Is his poo supposed to smell THAT bad??!!
We've had Levi - Full name by my daughter: Leviathan (the real) Slim Sheddy  ...for almost a week now. He's just a babe, guessing maybe only about 2 months. Amazingly he ate the very next day after we got him...thank God, because the herp shop gave us a "free meal" with our new BP and I didn't know what the hell I would have done with an uneaten live pinkie rat.
So, his poo smells like absolute death! I mean, it makes sense I suppose, he's poopin rat soup, but My Lord! The smell is hard to get out of the tank, too...And THEN he pooped on our bed while cruising around exploring. I once had a cat whose poo smell would literally permeate the entire house, but THIS smell takes the cake...Thankfully the smell is much more localized! I'm guessing this is normal, but just had to double check....?

Haha, welcome to the wonderful world of keeping a reptile! They have very stinky waste! However, some things to look out for cause you said "Rat soup" if the dung is watery or runny, especially mucus like take them to vet. However, you may find a hard white/chalky looking thing near the poop or with pee, this is a urate and natural for them to pass.
Good luck, apple vinegar + lemon solution helps to get that smell out and kill it with something else.

So you were expecting rose-scented poo?
It's actually impossible to say it's "normal" 'cause we aren't actually smelling it here, just going by your description; unusually stinky poo can be normal or can
mean his digestion is a little off...maybe due to stress or other things (for example, snakes that have been on antibiotics, for example, may not digest as well
for a while, since the good bacteria needed for digestion have been medically killed off along with the bad bacteria- sometimes giving probiotics designed FOR
reptiles can improve their digestion & thus the resulting odor; ultra-stinky-poo can also result from a "bad" rodent.)
Speaking for my snakes, a few have nastier-smelling poo than others do. If it's worrisome, take a fresh sample to the vet & have them do a fecal check for
icky stuff that doesn't belong (& can be cleaned up). Or, get nose plugs...

My snakes poo almost doesn’t smell so now I’m confused lol

Oh, snake poo smells bad, plain and simple!

I've kept most types over the years but I'd suggest that Corns and Kings dung seem to smell more pungent than Boas and Pythons .....

I’d agree...I swear my corns’ intestines take a detour through a nuclear waste dump. :omfg:

Colubrids in general seem to have worse-smelling poo than boas and pythons. The difference is that their dumps are pretty small and easy to clean up compared to my constrictor snakes.

My 6' boa does poos as big as a small dog lol... Doesn't smell too bad unless it's in his water bowl tbf....

ONE of the downsides of having 24 snakes was that there was always the chance of a little 'odour' now and then :)

In my experience, hognose poop is by far the worst smelling snake poop I've ever had the "pleasure" of smelling. The first time he pooped under my care I honestly thought a neighbor fertilized their lawn with cow manure....and he was only 11 grams back then!! He's the only snake I've ever had that stinks up the room.
My others, I don't smell unless I open the enclosure. My BP stinks, but not like my hognose.
Surprisingly, my experience with Kings and corns is they stink the least.
But bottom line is quite simple...poop stinks.

Alright so when it comes down to it, nothing to really worry about unless it's not a healthy looking stool. Guess I'll stock up on plenty of cleaning materials! Thanks all.
