Help me name my new sd retic boy:-)
Hey all, before I start my progression thread I wanna find the perfect name, probably the hardest part for us who just keep snakes as pets...
Here is my list or feel free to suggest others...

How about Tiny. That way you can tell everyone about how tiny he was when you got him when people see him as an adult. LOL.

My vote is Maximus, all day, hands down. A big boy like that deserves a name that screams power. Maximus screams power.

I agree, Maximus would be fitting when he’s big, and could be called max for short. Good looking retic also by the way!

Thanks pal, he is just a normal super dwarf het genetic strip (one of the nicest normals I've seen tho), I was told he is 75% super dwarf 25% dwarf by the respected store. I'm not expecting him to pass 8ft, the store reckons 6-7ft, still a big snake but I think my 6ft atm boa "Thor" will still weigh alot more.
See as he isn't going to be massive I'm leaning away ever so slightly from the more brutish options...
Link is growing on me ATM...
    Keep em coming people.

He latched on to the rub side yesterday when I was viewing him, think he was expecting food lol. Awesome boy.

I don't know a ton about retics, but don't be surprised if he tops 8 feet easily.

Lol, 10-12 I could manage but I trust the store in London, he worked directly with Bob Clark. Cold blooded in rainham Essex.
He is a year old and around 3ft.

He absolutely looks like a Leon. It rolls of the tongue easily and it suits him.

You look at him and "LEON" just flashes in neon signs above his head :D

I kind of like Chewy and Latch. But you may be jinxing yourself if you use those..him being a male retic and all that. You don't want him to latch on and chew on you !

Haha, I kinda want him to keep.some retic attitude, I feel I'm ready for an ahole snake if it's the case LMAO.
It's odd how you can feel ready and even get excited that he may be a bit more unpredictable:-)
    The missus voted Hector
    The son (4.5yrs) votes chewy

Ummmm…. Careful what you ask for. They can do some serous damage and a bite can land you in the hospital getting stiches if not kill you. If you like can name he Demon with your hopes he is difficult.

I am happy mine are easy going and even my male is mostly easy going except food and if he has a tooth ache. Geez on feeding day and for several hours after. And that is at 8 months old. You can ask others here about Male breeding season issues. One of our experienced keepers had to rehome his because of it. Is like an angry chainsaw that wants to fight you. Hope for peaceful happy animal! If you want something challenging get a tree boa. Cant kill you but will keep you on your toes.

I did look at tree boas to be honest, and carpondos and coastal carpets.
I don't want a maniac tbf just something to keep it fun, even ATM I won't just reach in and grab him like I do my boas, tap training is underway... He hasn't struck yet other than in the store at the box, he just looks ready too and wow is he fast on the turn Bob and weave around the hook haha.
Retics are just amazing, the way they soon round to check you out as you walk by, my boas barely notice or care about anything haha.

I stood by his Viv reeling of names like a crazy person, I think he likes Hector, turned and looked, maybe a coincidence...
Maybe more crazy name calling is needed ha.

Just weighed him at 282g and a year old, a mainland female would be 8ft and 3000g lol.

Hector is a very unique name for a retic. Plus it makes him sound like a friend.
