I have fantastic news! Katie (SunshineWalker) and I (Dakski) are getting married next year (2019)!

We have been living together for almost a 1 1/2 years and have been engaged for a little more than a year. It's time to set a date!

This is the second time for both of us and we weren't sure if we were going to tie the knot at all, or how fast if we did, and considered just staying engaged.

However, it's important to both of us to make it official. We both want to spend forever together and are madly in love, so getting married seems like the best next step. Besides, you try explaining to 15 animals that their parents are living in sin!

It's going to be a pretty low key wedding and we are having my 2nd mom, a Justice of the Peace, marry us.

Once we have a date, I will advise, but we wanted to share this with the forum. Our BP.net friends have followed our relationship and the relationships we have with our animals for a long time. It seems fitting that we share this wonderful news with all of you. I thank Katie for giving me permission to write the announcement!

I designed the ring myself.

Katie and I believe the symbol of our relationship is the infinity sign ∞. So I designed infinity signs into the sides of the ring and had them diamond studded.

Katie didn't want too large a diamond, as a) she didn't want to be gaudy, and b) she works as a physical therapist. Very physical job and uses her hands all the time.

I settled for a .95 carat, perfect cut/triple zero diamond. It is G in color and SI1 clarity. It fits her hand perfectly.

In my experience, and for anyone else out there looking for an engagement ring, the cut is everything. The cut allows for the light to get in and make that blinding sparkle effect! A perfect cut diamond will cost more than an equal color and clarity diamond. However, getting a slightly smaller triple zero diamond, with one level down in clarity and color, may not look as good on paper, but in real life, it will shine brighter, sparkle more, and therefore, look bigger, than a slightly larger, better color, better clarity, diamond that is not as well cut.

Katie actually got this ring 9-21-17, when we officially got engaged. However, it seemed appropriate to share that picture today, as now we are picking a date, and taking the next step. When we got engaged, I asked Katie to spend the rest of her life with me, and she said "yes." Two days ago we decided to get married and take it to the next level.

Congratulations. So who is going to tap train who? Look out for those bites along the way! Keep a proper feeding schedule. Oh and handle each other often but keep in mind there will be days to not handle each other. Keep an eye out for husbandry issues and always give proper respect to each other.
