And of course...it's a Desert Ghost [emoji4]

This is the final addition to my small (but precious to me) collection of Ball Pythons.

Welcome my little 2018 Pastel Orange Dream Desert Ghost girl. No name as of yet. 196 gr.

I now have 4 multi gene Desert Ghost girls and one male.
My goal is to eventually keep a small collection of home bred Desert Ghosts and sell the ones I won't keep to other DG enthusiasts.
Breeding or profit is not my main priority and the girls will all be allowed to grow up and mature at a reasonable rate before breeding. No rushing.

This will make 6 Ball Pythons, 5 Desert Ghosts and my big Pastel Yellow belly boy. Plus a Crestie. I'll try to keep it at that, until my own hatchlings arrive. [emoji4]

Here are a couple quick pics after checking her over and weigh in. She arrived at perfect temp, perfectly packaged, and was quite calm yet not very shy at all. Lovely girl ❤️

OMG she’s got a little “b” shaped marking on her back! That’s the first thing I noticed. She’s precious.

I noticed the "b", LOL.

What got me was how CALM she was. Not at all tense or afraid. Not trying to hide or to get away. Not head shy. Not lethargic. Just very calm and curious.
Now I have to leave her alone for a few days, that is the hard part ...LOL.

Then we'll see how feeding goes. In a few weeks we can start some short and gentle handling and MORE PICS !! :)

I can't wait to see her grow up! They actually get better with age!!

I fell in love with a 2017 Orange Dream Desert Ghost, but she would have had to be imported from the UK. I trust the breeder in the UK implicitly, but the thought of the animal going through the import facility before getting to me makes me nervous.
So many animals come and go there. I have heard nothing but good things about the importer and the facility, but I'm paranoid.
If I had a completely separate building to quarantine in, I would have gotten her. She is gorgeous!
Found a 2018 OD DG at Ozzyboid..but she sold right before I could get her.
Justin had 3 to choose from and I almost got the OD Lemonblast DG female, but ultimately I wanted the more busy pattern with greater contrast.
I already have Pastel Pinstripe (Lemonblast) represented in another female Desert Ghost.
So..this little girl it is [emoji4] she has Pastel in addition to the Orange Dream Desert Ghost, but Pastel never hurt anything [emoji1]

Thank you. I was hoping I wouldn't have a shipping nightmare like you endured! But..we were lucky. Now crossing fingers she stays healthy.

You guys and Yafe are on my mind...hope he gets better with every passing day and soon all of this worrying is behind you.

That's why I like the Orange Dream in the Desert Ghost. It gives beautiful color and brightness, much like a Pastel, but it preserves the sharp blacks without washing them out, aside from the pale head and a couple of blushing spots. Which creates insane contrast and color.

UPDATE!

Little no name girl ate [emoji4] I have had her since last Wednesday and been leaving her alone other then a quick peek a couple of times.

Today was feeding day so I presented her with a nice, warm FT rat pup. She took it and ate it quickly. [emoji4] She was on live up until now, so it was nice to see her not hesitating on FT.

I have to say, I haven't had a single one give me problems yet. All that I have purchased online and were shipped started eating F/T right away and without any fuss. Even though they were usually fed live at the breeders.

I think once they are established feeders and get set up correctly, it is a lot easier.

That's why I made sure that all the hatchlings I bred were completely and firmly established before re-homing them. That meant at least 2 sheds and 5 easy feedings. For some hatchlings that took longer then for others.

I never bred BPs but of the other kinds of snakes I bred (including rosy boas, corns, kings, various rat snakes, bull & gopher snakes) I always made sure they
had a strong feeding record too, before I let go of them...it's best for the snakes & best for the owners, & like you said, some do take longer than others, but
"that's life", at least they all got the best start I could give them. The rosy boas were the most inclined to want live pinks, so typically their feeding records were
at least 10 times so I knew they were reliable on f/t...never had any complaints, but by the time I feed snakes 10 times, I start to want to keep them all...:rolleyes:

Such a good girl !!!

Ate another FT rat pup 2 days ago. This time she didn't strike, so I left it with her. Was gone an hour later :)

Today she is in deep blue, so fresh skin to come ! Another meal or 2 after that, and I will start short handling sessions and more pics !!
