    Laying directly on glass???
I peeked at Flo and she has maneuvered her way underneath her hide (likely to help in shedding her skin) and has managed to move the paper towels about and is laying directly on the glass where her heatpad is!!! Should I be worried? I don't want to have to disrupt her in her new home as I just moved her in there 90 minutes ago but I'm worried about her laying directly on the glass!!!!

Probably just trying to get down to the heat.

What are your temps and how are you measuring them?

If the temps are where they’re supposed to be, laying on the glass shouldn’t matter.

As long as temps are regulated by a thermostat you have nothing to worry about. This is why it's important to regulate temps as well as to measure surface temps with a temp gun.

    Ambiant temp 77.4F

    Heat pad 28.1C

Heat pad connected to a thermostat (need to figure out how to adjust to F)

Ambiant being measured by digital thermometer, heat source is 2 60W heat lamps. I'm getting a second thermostat for lamps when I get paid on the 15th.

You need a temp gun so you can measure the temp of the glass.

Where is the probe from the thermostat? Does it measure the temperature of the glass or the paper towels on top of it?

It is underneath the vibarium next to the heat pad.

I'll add it to my list of things to purchase when I get paid. I cant do anything about that now, though.

28.1 Celsius is only 82.6 degrees Fahrenheit. That is too cool for the warm side.

I didn't do the conversion, but you should be shooting for 89-90F for a hot spot.

what do you mean next to the heat pad? It should be in the middle of the heat pad to get an accurate temp. If it is next to it the probe is not getting the actual temp.

I switched the thermostat to F and set her heat pad to 90.

Remember you can't trust the stat temp setting ... it's just a guide .

You have to check the surface temps with a suitable thermometer ( not a useless stick-on one ) then adjust the stat setting accordingly
