My new rescue adult female normal.
So I couldn’t help but get a snake off Craigslist! It was a very large, mature adult female, and has breeding potential with a high-end dominant genes male, as long as she can be healthy.
She was extremely underweight, and slightly dehydrated when I met her. Her owner openly admitted that he “couldn’t afford” to feed her properly. [emoji849]
Anyway, at her length and maturity, she should be around 2500 grams. She has extremely baggy, saggy, loose skin from starvation and I am slowly fattening her back up. She only weighs 1900 something grams when I first got her! [emoji47]
Here are some photos. She is absolutely the friendliest ball python I’ve ever had, out of 11 total! She will just sit on my lap absorbing my warmth for long periods of time. She enjoys being handled gently, being with humans and warm body heat. Amazing, she doesn’t try to escape or hide like most young ball pythons! She shows no fear at all around humans, which is unusual for most snakes.

Congratulations on the new addition! I’m trying not to look at Craigslist anymore. lol That’s where I got my dragonfly...the last “last snake” I picked up. :D

Re: My new rescue adult female normal.
I am hanging out with Mothra the friendly lap snake almost nightly! She is so friendly and sociable, immediately my favorite. Only Flame, my piebald, is the even close to this level of “tame ness”, the others are all a bit shy.

Nice pickup, Ive personally always been more drawn to just large BP's more than a BP with a fancy paintjob. You did a great thing by picking up and rehabing a CL animal....Ive seen some instances of animals in pretty bad shape from there.

Haha I've had mine for like two months and I just barely noticed the iridescence last night. I was pretty stoked. I never have the blinds open apparently.
