    The day's catch (dialup warning)
Well, I'm proud of my self. I only bought ten snakes today.

Ahem.. here they are. (and excuse the crappy pictures, some were taken in a moving car)

This is Harry my male granite burmese python
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil.../2/8/harry.jpg

Here is my female surinam BCC. I'm a bit worried because I realise that I didn't ask if she was CB, and I went on the website to check (lllreptile) and they didn't say their baby suris were CB.. I hope she does alright. She appears fine.
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/files/1/4/2/8/suri.jpg

Here's my het hypo female honduran milk. She's a little turd.
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil.../2/8/hondo.jpg

Here's a little male greyband king.
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...8/greyband.jpg

This is Beauregard a breeder male stripe cali king.
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil.../2/8/boreg.jpg

Here's the female breeder cali king.
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...8/caliking.jpg

I don't have to tell you what this one is.
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...2/8/sunglo.jpg

Here's another little turd. This one's a male albino nelson's milk.
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil.../8/albnels.jpg

This one is Rusalka, my female (tame) yellow anaconda.
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil.../8/rusalka.jpg

Last, but DEFINITELY not least.. my 6-7' female (possibly gravid) dumerils boa.

wow. Congrats mostly on the anni and burm. Which one will end up getting bigger. You have alot of snakes. I can't even remeber all of them. I wanna see some more pics of the annie.

Re: The day's catch (dialup warning)
The burm will most likely grow larger.. even though it's a male and the annie is a female.

In about one week I'll get you more pics of the annie. I have to leave them all alone for a week to settle in. (it's verrrry hard!)

Re: The day's catch (dialup warning)
So Male Yellow Annie would be mostly smaller than a burm when fully grown. I was reading some caresheets on this site and It seems that a RTB could be the same size or bigger as the yellow. Sorry if I seemed so hyped up on this yellow, its just cool that its an Anaconda ,but it grows somewhat smaller compared to some other giants.

They dont lay eggs, the offspring are live born.

Also congrats on all the new additions. How long do you think that the Dumerils has been gravid for? Dont they have somewhere near a 230 day gestation period?

Wow shelby ! thats so great ! You have some beautiful snakes.

Man, i feel like im so behind in my herping. You guys would always talk about the snakes you someday dreamed of owning like your anaconda and your burmese python and now youve finally got them !! Unlike me.....i havent gotten any new snakes exept for my little sonoran gopher snake. im still with the same 4 snakes ......its great but everybody knows that snakes are very addicting and you just want more !

Have fun with your new additions shelby im happy for you !

Oh that albino Nelson's is so darling! Looking right at the camera too! My daughter is just waiting for the breeder to tell us which of his new 8 baby albino Nelson's is a female so she can pick which one will be hers (she's saving madly for it as we speak lol).

Congrats on all the new additions. That Suri is stunning!

Re: The day's catch (dialup warning)
Thanks everyone. I opened cages to check temps today, and everyone seems fine.

Except for one. My big dumerils seems to have a respiratory infection. I know at the show she was cold. Maybe I was stupid to buy her, but I really adore her. Seems a vet trip is in order though. *sigh*

She's in shed, but that wouldn't make her gurgly and a bit profuse in saliva would it? She isn't drooling out her mouth or anything. I think I'll wait until she sheds then take her to the vet.

I have no idea how long she has been gravid for.

URI's that show themselves as "gurgly" don't happen in less than 36 hours. If she is gurgling now, the vendor most likely knew she was sick. Unfortunately, URI is often a common side effect of breedeing for many species of boids in the hands of breeders that don't know any better. I would definitely contact the seller and at least b!tch a little bit, even if they don't do anything about it, they should at least be reminded that selling sick animals just isn't right.

Have your vet do a culture ... since she's an adult she may have been treated at some point in the past and have a resistance built up to certain anti-biotics ... a culture will potentially save you a lot of trial and error.

Congrats on your new snakes. :) They are amazing. When I showed my daughter the pic of the Anaconda she flipped out. Anacondas are her favorite snake. Sorry to hear about the URI. I hope everything is ok.

Ok.. actually I did call him. He said that because she was cold and that she was shedding that's why she's gurgly. He said warm her up and in a few days when she sheds she should be better.

I'll wait for the shed, then take her to the vet if she's still bad.

You're going to need anti-biotics for this one ... I should have bet money on the seller saying that ... LOL.

I'm sure that they do. I think even good people can sometimes be over zealous making a sale. The difference between good and "shady" is where they stand making sure that you are a satisfied customer.

The sellers that sell you crap, take your money, and wash their hands of you don't get very far in this business ... An honest guy that makes a mistake and then makes a serious effort to correct it at the customers request is a totally different story. :D

    Yes, I understand.

I just bought her yesterday.. would it be really over stressful if I took her to the vet tomorrow, or should I wait until she sheds..?

There's probably very few things more stressful to a snake than to be clogged with enough mucus to cause a gurgling sound when trying to breathe, so I'd say that a trip to the vet can't hurt much more.

Maybe call your vet and tell them the story, see what he/she suggests?

I do hope your big girl does ok, does the distributor know how long she has been gravid? I hope her RI does better.
Beautiful little anni. And the Granite has some beautiful markings. Would love to see a nice crisp shot of both baby giants.

Re: The day's catch (dialup warning)
I didn't ask the breeder how long they thought she was gravid (too busy drooling over her lol)

Thing is, the vet probed her and though he didn't tell me a scale count, and I don't know if he probed both sides, he said the snake probed deep to be a female. I'm going to probe her myself and get a scale count.

I have a better pic of the burm here: http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=25907 and I'll get a pic of the conda in a few days.
