    Serpent in the sun[emoji94]
I was finally able to coax my little scrubby out into the sunlight for the first time since his last shed. His iridescence never disappoints and he appears to be coloring up nicely this year. Plus, I somehow turned around and my little squirt is 5 feet long[emoji15]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4281e165e7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3f485691c5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6ca25b1fca.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...24a4ce93f8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...92e1084654.jpg

What did you do to that poor widdle snakey to upset him? I guess now you know he's a Gemini? ;) Sure is pretty though!

Hahaha, I wish I knew because I’d love to NEVER do it again! An angry scrub is a force to be reckoned with [emoji23] I mean, I get that I woke him up from a nap, but jeez! He wouldn’t even look at me the next day. If he was perching and I walked by, he simply buried his face.

I really wish I could learn parcel tongue, because he tries so hard to speak. When he was mad, I kept hearing these low, whisper- like hisses. Naturally, I would come closer to hear better because I wasn’t sure he was making that sound. And naturally, the closer I got, the more pissed off he got and the more I feared for my face[emoji23]

Since I don’t know his birthday, I generally estimate him to be a Leo...but the evidence is circumstantial at best. So he very well could be a slippery little Gemini!

I know! He’s hit a big growth spurt over the last few months. I ran out of rodents but still had a huge bag of frozen chicks which, until now, my snakes were too small to eat without me hacking them up first. It could be coincidental, but it definitely seems like he grows faster on fowl than rodent!

Might be time to space out his feedings, too...before he gets fat and everyone judges me a terrible mom😂😂

How’s your little one?! He looks positively stunning!

Cut it out. You're a great snake mom :). How often are you feeding him btw? I've got mine on a 7-10 day schedule for now. I gave him a chick for his last feeding. He got it down with no problem but his poop was really runny :(. I've heard about that happening with some critters but all my other snakes have eaten them with no problems. I also think my boy is prepping to shed. I haven't seen him hanging out in his enclosure for the past 4-5 days and he's normally always out especially at night. Can't wait to get some post shed pics.

He’s currently eating every 14-18 days. The first time I fed him a whole chick (without removing the head or something) was in early July. I was nervous since he seems so skinny, but Chris assured me it would be fine. He survived and has been slamming them ever since. They definitely leave a noticeable lump in him, but it’s gone after 2 days or so. That scrub metabolism is CRAY!

Cant wait to see his colors post shed. Seems you have no trouble handling him!
