Re: Ceramic Heat Emitters
You are going to need something to get your ambient up in the 80s . A CHE is one of the cheaper options. All heat sources need to be on a thermostat.

I agree that all sources need to be regulated by a thermostat, just wasn’t sure if CHE’s needed a special kind. I will purchase one :)
Re: Ceramic Heat Emitters
Is there a certain brand anyone recommends?
Re: Ceramic Heat Emitters
I've used ZooMed CHE for years. They work well. CHE will reduce humidity but if you are only using it for ambient and not live in a dry climate it's probably okay. Please use a thermostat to regulate the CHE. As long as the thermostat can handle the wattage of the CHE any major thermostat brand will work.
Re: Ceramic Heat Emitters
Thanks for all the replies!! I have ordered another thermostat, a CHE, and a dome for it. They will be here Thursday. Another quick question: do I put the CHE on top of the screen?
Re: Ceramic Heat Emitters
I live in eastern Washington, but the main reason I’m having issues with ambient is because we keep our house pretty cold, usually low seventies.

Man, that is cold. I don't go lower than 84. Anything lower is near arctic temps lol.
