Snake keeps falling :/

I’m a new an excited snake owner of a genetic stripe bp.
i just have a few questions. She keeps falling trying to what I assume is escape. I godon’t her yesterday an I thought she would be doing a lot more exploring then trying to escape. My temps are 88 on hot side an 79 on the cool side. Humidity is 52. I’m just afraid she is gonna hurt her self. Normal or my temps a little off?

Temps seems okay. Humidity a tad low but not bad. Could you please give more information on your setup besides just temps. Hides? Tank or tub? Size? Is it a baby?

If the snake is just crawling along the wall and just falls usually this will not injure them. Unless there is somewhere high to fall off of. It could also be stress related roaming and trying to escape if it does not feel secure and safe. Most ball pythons tend to just stay in their hide when happy.

Yes sorry haha she is in a 40 gallon tank has a big water dish in the corner plus a little one for drinking. There are three hides. One in the basking area, one in the cooler side an then one in the middle. There are a ton of places for her to climb if I knew how to post a photo I would haha

You could try to cover up three sides of the tank to make it feel more secure. If she came from another place that had her in rack system or tubs the tank will make her feel very exposed and not feel secure. I do not know how to post pictures myself. Someone else will be here that can help with photos and also make more suggestions.

First of all, congrats on your new snake :)

How long have you had her?
The temps and the humidity both sound fine to me. I wouldn't change anything there.
If she hasn't been with you for over two weeks, she might be climbing the tank walls because this environment is new and she is trying to get a grasp of the set up.

Does she have anything to climb on? Maybe she a climber and needs an branch or something. Most ball pythons love to climb when they are young and some still do with age. A small branch for climbing might be enough for her.

Also if you're ball python is young (under a year), this enclosure might be too big for her.

My last point is that most ball pythons fall when climbing. They might love to climb but they aren't the most elegant beings in that regard. That's why you shouldn't give them anything to climb on that's higher than 1 feet above the ground, at least in my opinion.
My ball python falls often enough but from a 0,6 feet. I mean it's not great that he falls but at least he's not falling from an amazing and dangerous height. By the way I just found him hanging around in his enclosure as I took a look (I might add the photo) :D

Since you haven't had this snake for very long, she may be looking for the familiar place she lived before. Snakes learn & remember their way around in the
wild...it's very disturbing to them when they're relocated, either in nature or in a new cage. I think she'll calm down with patience, & as others said, I'd minimize
the distance she is falling for her safety. You might try covering at least 3 sides also, to help increase her feeling of security. Mostly I think you'll have to be patient.

I’ve had her for only a few days so I assume she is just stressed. I have a ton of climbing places for her an a three hides for her. She actually took a rest most the day today but it was up on a climbing branch I put in there. Just thought they rest in hides most the day. But I would t ether if I was stressed out lol.

one other question i keep reading an see that a lot of people will ether choose to do a 12 hour light cycle or a light cycle off where they live. Which do you all suggest? Im doing 12 right now

Also everyone keeps telling me to get rid of lights an get a CHE??? Yes or keep

I only utilize ambient room light from windows (& no direct sunlight hitting any cages, ever). Most snakes don't appreciate bright lights anyway. In winter I'll use
red or black bulbs for extra overhead warmth for certain snakes though.

By enforcing a 12 hour light cycle, I assume you're trying to prevent your snakes from going off feed for seasonal changes (as snakes are known to take the "hint"
both from temperatures and amount of daylight)? I stick with what nature supplies, & I only have 2 snakes that go off-feed in winter (neither are BPs, FYI).

I don't use CHE here but that's another option for overhead heat without adding light. You still need to regulate them- just like lights, they can easily over-heat
the cage & you don't want to "cook" your pets.

I just use regular daylight and cut out any direct sunlight.

I have a few display vivs but they are only for a few minutes if we have interested guests ..
