What should I breed my ball python to?
I recently bought a new ball python and she’s absolutely gorgeous. I want some input of what morphs I should breed her too so I have an idea of what to get at my next expo!! She is an enchi orange dream pastel spider possible yellowbelly. What would be a good pairing with her???

Look on the genetic calculators and see what you like. The best thing to do is produce animals you like just incase you end up having them forever....I may find a certain combo to be absolutely beautiful and the same combo you may not like at all.

A good option would be anything in the yellow belly complex. Its fun trying to prove out genes.

If she is a baby you have a good long wait ahead of you to make up your mind. Girls are usually not ready until they are at least three. Boys are usually ready in a year. Some more some less. Go to http://www.worldofballpythons.com/wizard/ and start plugging in combos to see what you like.

I'd try a yellowbelly to see if you get some Ivory's, if you do then you know for sure that she's yellowbelly. Personally though, I'm a fan of mojaves. So I'd probably throw that in there too.

    Honestly?

If you're unwilling to pick up it's crap for the rest of it's life don't breed it.

The one thing you want is an animal that makes you smile every time you open the enclosure - at that point sales/ progression receed into insignificance. If you have a goal ( morph wise in mind then that should be a bonus )

    It's your hobby - enjoy it. :D

Yup this. I agree and I breed them for money. Basically breeding things people want, some of which I personally don't like the looks of. So, I have some nice animals according to the market, but one of my personal favorites happens to be a large normal. Probably the cheapest snake I have and she refuses to lay. At this point she has had relations with all my breeding males but still no eggs. Many people would have gotten rid of her by now, but I keep her around just because I like her attitude. She is pleasant to be around.

No, but seriously. Breed what you think would look nice. I think leopard and banana would go well with your girl, but you've got plenty of time to figure it out.

Since you enjoy the colors/patterning on your current snake: How about an enchi/orange dream/pastel male? That way you would have a shot at a super enchi/super orange dream/super pastel/spider/yellowbelly?
