    Eenie Meenie Miney Mo
Had to do some cage cleaning and water changes so I snapped a few pics. Gotta say I was a bit disappointed with the scrub. He musked me for the first time last night and got me and the bed pretty good. I don't think he was in the mood to be taken out and handled. Oh well, get used to it buddy!!

Pictures really don't do this guy justice.

Never any problems with this boy.

I hardly ever take S'ven out since he's in my son's room and not my room or the critter room. Out of sight, out of mind I guess. He's my slowest growing carpet but I still love him.

Nice looking collection Ziggy! I must say those Motley's have been growing on me ever since I finally saw one in person at the pet store down in Stockbridge GA. When I inquired about them at a show a couple weeks ago, the breeder told me the darker Motley's tend to be a little bit nippy (not sure how much truth is there).....

@ CK- My BCI has been super chill so far. He hasn't hissed or struck at me yet. I had him out last night and he was perfectly content to just hang out on my lap for about 15 minutes which was pretty cool. My pythons and colubrids don't stay still for 15 seconds.

Thanks CM. The musking was pretty gross. He was spraying crap all over the place. The QT tubs are in our guest room and now the blanket on that bed needs to go in the wash. Silly snake.

When Wallace was young he used to get me a lot. Once directly in the mouth.

They grow out of it eventually.

Hate to ask a simple question but I never been musked on I knew colubrids did do all snakes have that potential or do some do it more than others?

Prior to the scrub I've only been musked by my kings. I believe some snakes are more prone to musking than others. My bulls or carpets have never done it.

My white-lipped pythons love to musk me - but it's like odor only. Rarely pass urates while i am holding them.

I've never been musked by any snakes, they've generally been pretty chill.

Klauss and I had a much better interaction last night. No musking this time but he did tag me lightly when I put him back in his tub. It was well worth it though. I'm sure we'll be besties in no time. :)

Man, everyone’s looking great! Nigel is a giant now! A shiny, beautiful giant. Haha, Apophis musked me a lot in the beginning. But he quit after like two weeks. He quickly learned that if he musked, he got a bath. And he hates baths ;)

I'm curious what's the difference between musking and just having to pee while your holding them? and is a urate passed during musking?

Musking is just a stink...I've never had a snake expel both musk & urates or poo when upset...apparently, I "haven't lived"? haha!
Musk: you'll know it when it happens, & some kinds of snakes reek way worse than others, but in any event, it doesn't smell like their pee or poo- totally different. :omg:

The BI shed yesterday and was looking great. Pics don't show how rich his colors really are. And he's such a mellow fellow too.

The BO is settling in and calming down fast. She took to f/t quickly and didn't hiss once when I took her out today.

Cool pics el Ziggy, so hard to capture the beauty of a motley, there markings are so cool.
Really glad your bco is starting to chill for you, I love her grey speckling and glad she's gone over to f/t so easy.
Think she may be bigger than her one day definitely with more girth that's for sure

The new Boa's are looking awesome and good thing your BO is settling down fast. She's going to be big!

    Love your collection!

Keep us in the loop on everyone's growth and in the loop on the ones that aren't growing so much anymore as well.

These boys both shed recently so they were chomping at the bit for food. The boa eats a weaned rat every 10-14 days. The scrub eats a small rat every 7-10 days.http://i.imgur.com/JmCw5BT.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/KOzBkKg.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/VJVqg82.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/09w4p6G.jpgThis girl will get a hopper in a few more days. She'll still huff and puff a little in her tub but she's super sweet once she's out.http://i.imgur.com/xQtPZh9.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/HxRoTQK.jpg

    What a collection!

Zig, minus a Papuan Olive and a SD/Dwarf retic you've got about anything I'd want there!

I think it's great how each snake has it's own unique "personality ".
I love all my snakes, especially the carpets, and I think Chomper is my favorite. My male jungle is a close 2nd.

The boas are new to me but I love them already. When I want to just hang out and chill with one of my snakes I grab a boa (usually the Motley). The Argie girl doesn't hiss anymore though. :)

These two are still vying for the title of King. The Olive is much easier to deal with but the Scrub commands just a little more respect and he's more photogenic. :)

    Looking good EL-Ziggy!

It is amazing that creatures that most people think are stupid and simplistic, can each have their own distinct personalities. Even within species, they can be noticeably different. I have two corn snakes and they are both docile as can be, but their personalities are night and day. Solana is chill and calm. Figment is all over the place and just won't stop moving!

Awesome collection and great that you are able to enjoy the difference between and even in species!
