The last straw.
This is actually the critter I decided on first when planning for my new addition. It took a little longer than expected and I ended up adding two more critters while waiting for her. She's scheduled for one more feeding at the breeder then headed home to me next week. I've seen lots of BCI, BCC, and a few BCL on the forum. Does anybody else keep BCOs? I sometimes like taking the road less travelled and after someone mentioned Argentine boas when I asked about possible new additions I fell hard for them. I set out to get a BCO and a scrub and the BCI was an unexpected bonus. All in all it's a great way to complete my collection. I'll take my bow now. :)

Re: The last straw.

Re: The last straw.
Thanks y'all. I'm super happy with all the new additions. 11 is one of my favorite numbers so no more snakes for me. :)
@ Richard- She's not a max pink but she was the darkest critter with the most pinks out of the clutch. I'm told that's sometimes an indicator that they'll be darker as adults which is what I'm hoping for. I haven't seen a lot of BCO around and that really piqued my interest.

Whatever she is, she's a knock-out! And the best is yet to be perhaps...we might have to hate ya? ;)

Re: The last straw.
Very nice addition Ziggy and overall awesome collection! Thanks for sharing :)
-
Ok, this isn't fair. Now you have a scrub and a bco?!
Total envy over here. Beautiful collection!

1SoftKiss on YouTube has two Grumpy and Nosey you should check out her channel :gj: gorgeous addition, boy you really have a magnificent collection of breathtaking critters, thank you ever so much for sharing and best wishes always..

Re: The last straw.
Y'all are really great. It's very nice to have a place to share our passion, appreciation, and excitement for so many awesome animals. This is a wonderful community of folks.
@ C.Marie- I love her videos. Those critters are HUGE! I can't imagine mine will be that big. Let's hope not. :)

What a good looking boa! I want to see this one grow. :gj:
Congratulations Ziggy for completing your collection!!

If I’m not mistaken,
Didn’t I recommend one of these for your possible “next snake”?
What an excellent addition:)
Next to the Iquitos Peruvian locale and some rare Basin Suri and Guyana BCC.
BCO is one of the largest boa constrictor species.
Another nice feature is they keep at lower temps.
They are the diamond pythons of the boa constrictor world.
The southern most species!
You have reached Utopia:snake::salute:

Re: The last straw.
Nice El-Ziggy! She looks fantastic!
BCO is an Argentinian Boa, correct?
Haven't found much info on them. How big can she get? Bigger than a BCC female? That's a big lady you are going to have there if that's the case.
Just curious. Either way, cannot wait to watch her grow, along with the rest of the crew!

Re: The last straw.
I love BCO! I've been in love with them for YEARS but have always been a bit intimidated by a.) their size and b.) their "typical" attitudes. I still think they're beautiful snakes, and am super jelly of that little baby right there.

What the what?!?!?!?!?
I didn't see this coming!!! Holy crap what another cool addition!!!
...Now whenever I think of Ziggy it's 50% respect and admiration and 50% jealousy!!! Hahahahhaa!!!
Just playing, Zig, I have nothing but respect and admiration for you and your collection, my man! Congrats!

Wow, awesome new snake! You really know how to pick them.

Re: The last straw.
I must give credit where it's due. After reviewing the previous thread it was indeed Gio who originally made the BCO suggestion. Many thanks my friend :). Another shout out to enginee837 for referring me to an awesome breeder Mr. Kurt Schatzl who produced a beautiful clutch of BCO babies this year and was kind enough to share one with me. Together Each Achieves More and I love it when a good plan comes together. I'm really excited to work with the new additions especially the boas. I saw my BCI in his light phase for the first time this weekend and was blown away. Like Richard said, it was almost like having another snake. I've got a pretty good handle on my pythons but the scrub is another step up. He's easily the most photogenic snake I have. I love some of the more underrated species in our hobby. I'm in awe of how many beautiful animals are out there. I can't keep 'em all but I love the ones I have. Somebody else needs to get one of the Argies!

Re: The last straw.
You’ve seen it for yourself now el Ziggy that silver is so cool on the motley’s .Until you see the boas colour change I don’t think non boa owners believe you, lol
I love the bco and there are not many in the U.K., they also have to be microchipped and cites certificates like the dumeril boas if you have one in the U.K., if you produce babies you have to get those done too before you sell them

You have great taste and there isn't a species in your crew that I wouldn't own myself.
For the folks that are old enough, I'm having a beer and toasting Zig.
Soda if you are young or don't like or can't sip the brew.
It is really fun to see people enjoying life and getting new things.
Zig,,,, Congrats!!

Re: The last straw.
The BCO arrived safe and sound this morning. She's gonna hang out with me at work today and her tub is all set up for when we get home later. This isn't the same one I posted earlier. I swapped her out for this pretty girl instead. I like her markings more. I think I'll call her Xena.

Congrats on all of your new additions Ziggy! :) Such awesome choices. I’m so glad you’re finally into Boas, and you went all in at that, with two winners!
And the Scrub is a perfect fit for your collection. I was millimeters away from pulling the trigger on a Scrub back in the spring, but thought I should think on it some more. I am really torn between that and a Green Anaconda. But need to think hard about either.
Hopefully your experiences with your Scrub will help. :)
Those are awesome animals that you added. I look forward to watching them grow.

Thank you, it’s nice to know that I was missed. :) I’ve made some major life changes in a positive direction that has the side effect of very little time online.
