Yay! Perfect shed. Plastic cage the way to go!
I'm a proud mommy. Just have to share. :) I've been waiting rather impatiently for Sobe's 3rd shed and tonight he did. He left me a neat little ball of shed. All one piece, both eye caps and everything. The plastic enclosure has really been perfect for maintaining his temps and humidity even with the heat lamp. I'm so happy for him and to know that the new enclosure is working out perfectly. There's nothing like a perfect shed. :)

Well congrats Khara and Sobe!
Gotta love those plastic enclosures! We have the 5 balls in them and the big BCI in a glass tank. Darn glass tank drives me nuts and I end up spending more time on that one tank than on the 5 sterlites LOL.

Thanks. :) With the glass tank I had to mist several times a day and block 2/3 of the screen top and it was just such a pain.
I'm so glad his shed went well. He left me the smallest little ball of shed. It looked like a rolled up knee-hi stocking. I saw it and thought that can't be it but unrolled it and it was all there. :D
I also couldn't wait to see if he'd gotten lighter. He has more blushing especially around his head after this shed. :)

Congrats on the good shed!
Re: Yay! Perfect shed. Plastic cage the way to go!
Its the much forgotten 18th commandment: Thou shalt use Sterilite or Rubbermaid products to house ball pythons!

Re: Yay! Perfect shed. Plastic cage the way to go!

It's a great article. Here's the new enclosure (on the left) I have for Sobe that I built from the article...

Not hard and not expensive. Made me feel really silly for buying the glass 20L tank w/ screen top. For that money I could have bought another snake. DOH! :D

Another idea with that handy dandy soldering wand. I found these great containers at my local Dollar General. The larger one would hold your average file folders. Hard plastic with a nice dual snap down lid and handle, very sturdy. Larger one...$4.00...smaller one $2.00. Two minutes with the soldering wand, a bit of paper towel in the bottom and I have temporary carriers for the snakes for vet visits or during major cage cleaning and one that I keep just for transporting live feeders from the pet store. Since the pet store sells small carrier cages for 15 - 25 dollars...I love my soldering wand (and my dollar store)! LOL
