Nicaraguan boas
I thought I'd share some pics of my two female Nicaraguan boas,
There pretty much the same same age bar 2 months but very different from each other.
The more orange one is my hypo mainland Nicaraguan who was 3 in June she's great and got such fantastic colours on her and really highly speckled, she pretty much fully grown.
The darker red one is from the corn islands just off the coast of Nicaraguan often called the fire bellied Nicaraguan for obvious reasons, she's seems to have a lot finer scales and totally different to the mainland nics
There's been a few people on here buy new nics and I thought I'd show them some adultshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a35003c208.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...622adb43f6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fbf72d0a5c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b961b2cc61.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3cc7501f79.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d7f3f2df68.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8898f8b127.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cf1e25f218.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...66a45f66e4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b29ad2d667.jpg

Thank you for the great photos! It's been surprisingly tough to find clear images of Nics, especially full grown ones, so this is really nice. Both of them are gorgeous, I especially like the darkness of the corn island girl though!
It's also helpful to see how they are girth-wise, they really do seem quite a bit slimmer than common BCIs, which I like. I can't wait until my boy gets a bit bigger, he's cute at his current size but I want more snake :D

Once again some great pics love the colours of them.

Thanks caravaggiooo and Wayne
I just took the pics on me phone
I too struggled to get some proper pics of adult Nicaraguans when I was contemplating getting them ,there very underrated that’s for sure very rarely over 5ft decent colour and 100% pure locality and don’t get as thick as most people’s wrist
Most people forget about them when discussing dwarf boas

Re: Nicaraguan boas
Very nice Richard... Seems like there are not a lot of Nic's owners on here. I personally like your girl with the brighter colors. What are their names? Or do you not name your snakes because you have a lot. Thank you for sharing, I enjoy seeing all of the pics you post..

Lovely ! Both are really pretty but if I had to pick a fave I’d go the lighter one. That speckle is redicccc

Re: Nicaraguan boas
Honestly I don't know anything about nicaraguan boas but I love the colour change from head to toe (tail in there case) they look beautiful. Hopefully one day I'll venture out from just ball pythons and looking at them I think I've found what I'd one day eventually get.

Re: Nicaraguan boas
Thanks everyone yes I’ve kinda got names for most of my snakes but the Hypo Nic is called“Nic” and the other one is “red nic” nics speckles are so cool and bright

Beautiful snakes! How docile are they? I’ve been thinking about getting a dwarf boa but I’ve heard nics can be somewhat more aggressive than other boas.
-
Damn those are nice and so interesting.
Underrated locales in the BC for sure.
-
Those are some good looking noodles, love the pinks and reds mixed in your collection really is magnificent on ever level, you must be so proud thank you for all the photos you share the truly are a treat

Re: Nicaraguan boas
Even more beautiful boas aye Richard? Very nice critters you have there sir. I've seen a few nics popping up lately too. They are some gorgeous little things and they're not that little. :)

Re: Nicaraguan boas
Thanks everyone,
nics seem to have this reputation of being nippy but must of been really lucky, not been snappy or hissy ,both would eat every day if they could like like most boas, they was fed on Wednesday so got some food in them lol, a lot of people don’t like there higher speckling on the mainland nic but I quite like it and there a great size compared to a lot of boas, there pretty much full grown and under 5ft and not as as thick as my wrist with a rat in them which is good as a lot of people think all boas are 10ft girthy monsters

That's what I was thinking, you have a big collection.
It has been easy for me with only 3 snakes, I feed them every other Monday. But now with a baby Carpet, I will feed him every Monday and the others will only have to watch. :D
-
Re: Nicaraguan boas
The older ones are every month and then some are 3 weeks and some two and the newest bloods are still weekly, so most of the others are slobbering at the glass when it's not there turn , lol

Re: Nicaraguan boas
Wow Rich. So beautiful. That tail is incredible. Love the deep red/maroon color of it. Amazing the different colors she has on her and the changes throughout her body. Tan/grayish head all the way to that deep red tail. WOW. Stunning.
The video is cool. She is very chill, as you said. Awesome animal.

Re: Nicaraguan boas
Thanks Dave, yes the corn islands are pretty unique, got a longer head too like the sabage ,her colour change is unbelievable ,think she was a chameleon in her past life, she’s a pig with her food, she’s about the only one normally I have to still stroke a couple of times with the hook as she thinks she’s getting food all the time, even Medusa I can just lift out now, good job really as she’s put a fair bit of growth on, but last night she came straight out into my hand as I was trying to take some pics of her in her fresh skin, at least as she came out I could unravel her skin from her log,I had been defrosting Gomez little rat fluff so she must of smelt that, but he soon ate that anyway and was nothing left in the room
