    few pics of Goblin
Hey; here are a few pics of my big guy. For those not knowing, he is a pre-'99, former breeder. I hope to breed him to my female next November. :)

    His weight: 2,334 grams.

Pic with me foot for size reference. His head is nearly as wide as my big toe!

Woaaah he's a big boy and handsome as heck too! Hmmm pin-up material for my females LOL.

    Comments from my girls:

Orlah - Well I wouldn't kick him outta my hide!
Kyna - I'd share my rat with that male!
    Brannagh - Now him I wouldn't bite!
Saoirse - That's hot! (she adjusting to captivity a bit too well LOL)
Rionach - Hey buddy...pssttt...got a spare wean rat? You look well fed! (too young to care about males but loves to eat!)

He is gorgeous. I sure hope Shahrazad gets around that big. That size seems about perfect for hanging around your neck and such.

You know, I have to say that I am always amazed by all the different kinds of morphs I am seeing in the BP trade, but for the sheer asymetrical beauty, a healthy normal BP is just breathtaking. Maybe the brownish gold is not the most brilliant color, but the completely unrelated and unique paterns, bulbous blobs that seem to move almost like a lava lamp across his sides, are just mesmorizing. A Royal Python is indeed a magnificent creature. And on top of all that, a kinder disposition than most dogs I've met. We are all blessed to have the honor of interacting with these serpents.

Totally agree with you there Rachel. Morphs are beautiful, lord knows I dream of owning/producing a few myself one day but I am amazed on a daily basis with the 5 normal females we currently own. The differences in their individual patterns, shades, temperments and reactions to handling are just fascinating!

I just cannot call these lovely snakes my "pets" for some reason. They are just so unlike a dog, cat or other domesticated pet/companion animal we've ever had in the house. Maybe I'm still a starry-eyed newbie but I still get this shivery feeling when they let me handle them or take food from my hand (well hemostat LOL). Something so wonderful and awe-inspiring in sharing one's life with these spectacular creatures - morph or normal.

Thanks everyone! lol Jo; with Gobby having had several years off from breeding, I am sure he would love to visit your gals!

Yeah, I would never trade this guy for anything. He is the most super pet quality BP I have ever seen. I would rather show him to my snake-wary friends and family, than any of my other snakes; he just kind of sits there.I am workin' on feeding him less, though even with how massive he is, I only fed every 10 days...
