Ghost currently has half a T8. Working on adding lights this weekend, but the lamp in the room is on a timer in the meantime to have some light shining in. I've re-arranged a bit, but still using the same stuff as here.
I got my plants from hobby lobby when they were 50% off a month or so ago. And just some other random stuff + hides that I already had. Using reptile prime completely dry for him. He really enjoys excavating it out from under things and he uses the 2 plants now that they're just laying on the floor as hides almost more than his actual hides. He has actually upgraded to the next size since this pic.

I also get branches and dried bark from the local woods or parks plus fake foliage from pound shops and charity stores https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...62ae5d0764.png

I just added something to my cage today. A PVC pipe "branch" across. Plan is to spray paint the bar later to black or brown or maybe silicone and coat in eco earth or something later.
Looks similar to before:

So this is how the little ones enclosure looks now. Hopefully I didn't over kill. I still want something he can climb up on. My snakes are a little spoiled as you can tell. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...50f38916ec.jpg

PVC would work pretty well if you buy the caps or just use some sort of expanding glue to fill the ends.. You can just prop it up at an angle or do what I did and hot glue some of those closet bar hanger thingies to the walls. I got mine at home depot for about $1 for a pair.
I found out the comical way that if they fit at all and can get inside, they will go in and refuse to come out for days at a time. (Confirmed my corn snake wasn't stuck, but he did not want to get out. Mouse is good enough enticement though.)

I didn't realize the milksnakes needed climbing branches. I don't have any branches for mine since they are currently in a tub but will soon be moving into their new 3x2 cages. Should I add climbing branches??

All my snakes make use of the branches .. The Royal pythons will happily spend hours each evening climbing branches ..

For me, I dont think it is so much of a need as something to make the space they have more usable for them (and a little aesthetics...). A 2x2 foot cage adds almost a 2nd layer of floor space with enough branches and climbing areas as long as they use it.
Trying it certainly doesn't hurt, and you can add short branches in a tub unless it is super short in height. Even 1 inch of the ground is interesting to a snake compared to flat ground.
