Easy .... have 21 snakes [emoji6]
Oh wait ... no .. I didn't have enough time to spend with them all ..
Edit
I'm actually down from 21 to 16 snakes ... soon to be 15 maybe 14.
I'm looking to get down to ten just a happy medium .

I know! Yesterday was feeding day and I give two days for digestion.
Luckily, everyone ate! Never an issue with Behira (the BCI) or Figment (the adult male corn), but Shayna can be picky (the BP), and Solana ((baby Scaleless Sunglow (Red Factor) Motley Corn)) just arrived last Thursday, so thrilled she ate. However, can't play with any snakes today! Or yesterday for that matter (no handling feeding day).
Luckily, I still have Frank (BTS) and the Gecko's, who like to play too!
It can lonely Sunday and Monday though without my slithering friends!

I actually split feeding days up throughout the week, just so I have flexibility with handling. Typically I feed two at a time, then a few days later the other two. Sometimes sheds and refusals will change things, but I try to follow that routine.

When I first got into snakes, I think that was one thing that spurred me into getting more: it was awful when they were in shed & "unavailable".
So for many years, I had WAAAAY more, but now I'm down to 16, and wouldn't mind just 10 or less... (it only took 3+ decades to feel this way, hahaha!)
Having too many to interact with is no fun, & you feel like all you do is clean & feed...I love to spend time with my pets, so "less is more" for me, now. ;)

I have one. I have no sympathy for any of y'all.

Sadly that's a normal Monday for me. I feed on Sunday and leave them alone for a day or two before I play with them again.
-
I try and Do the same exact thing and stagger my feeding so that I always have one or two available for handling. However sometimes the days just line up with my schedule being whatever it is I just want to get them fed if I am not going to be around for some reason. Sushi being on an every other week schedule gives me some flexibility because he has a longer window for handling

I feed on the same day for everyone. It makes it easy to remember and once Behira or Figment smell food, they are done anyone. NO way I am going to try to handle Behira with rat smell in the room!
The two exceptions are when Behira is bigger, she will eat less frequently than the others, so I will have to skip her on some feeding days. We will both have to adjust. Additionally, Solana, once settled in, will eat every 4-5 days for a while, so I'll have to keep track of her separately, until she's on a once a week and eventually every two week schedule.
Otherwise, I like to keep it simple. Besides, the adults eat every two weeks, so I only have to "go without" them for 2-3 days out of every 14. It's all good. Happy and healthy over play time.

Well, today's a new day. Tyson shed last night and Cosmo has had over 48 hours to digest...now if only I didn't have to do this "go to work" thing...

The things we do to pay for our passions.
Thursday is feeding day so Friday is leave everyone alone day. Rainbow's feeding mode duration is lessening as time goes on. I think she is finally getting to the point where she is not always hungry. I am working on her epic cage build and have put off moving for a while (Hurricane Harvey killed the housing market here). Will take me a couple of months to get it done. I think she needs more exercise and room to explore. The only thing that worries me is that she might go feral on me thinking she is free. LOL.
-
I pretty much do the same as dakski said...I feed all on the same day. There's a few exceptions sometimes...like the ones who go off-feed in winter & need
more food to catch up (that's my rosy boa & western longnose); or after my female Florida rat snakes lay their slugs every year about this time, they'll be
eating machines & need more food. But otherwise, I feed all at once & it wouldn't be fun to handle the ones I didn't give food to, just saying...;) They know!

when u can't play snakes, play hockey!
(or play pokemon  )

Re: Nobody to play with : (
I have 8 snakes and have found myself in a similar situation a few times. Several in shed and a few that have just eaten. There's usually one or two that are available for handling though.

Re: Nobody to play with : (
Sounds like it's time for another snake ;)

Hahaha, I haven't been on the ice in about 6-7 years. I just got cortisone injections in my shoulder and knees though. Hoping to get back out there soon. I officially retired from Dek-hockey (street hockey, ball hockey, floor hockey) after having a tough run. In a span of 1 tournament and 18 house league games I blew out my knee, broke 3 ribs and broke my thumb (required surgery and 2 screws). Im done!
Sorry, my man, but I'll pass on the Pokemon :P

Re: Nobody to play with : (
I know the feeling, I feed everyone Mondays so monday-wednesday handling is out. Makes it easier sometimes though cause Sascha only eats every other week and is always happy to come hang out. Side note, everyone ate last night (including my Rainbow who is in the deepest shed I've ever seen lol) and just wanted to share how good it feels when everyone is eating on cue :)
-
I'm just happy when I can feed MOST of my snakes on the same day (I don't mind a few exceptions) & it's even better when I can clean & thin out my mice
first, then just hand 'em all out...:D

My crew is all eating right now too, first time since March. Definitely a good feeling! I haven't tried to feed Juice (Borneo STP) in shed yet, so we'll see what happens this weekend. Other than that, only Django (King) eats in shed, Tyson (BP) and Cosmo (hognose) I don't even bother offering.

Definitely hope that keeps up brother. I gotta say I'm so happy mainly about my KSB, he's been eating weekly F/T without missing a meal for about 7-8 weeks now. Such a relief lol my girlfriend pointed out to me last night that I've been a lot calmer since that started.

Re: Nobody to play with : (
Fed Friday. Been waiting all weekend to hold my snakes. Not sure Rainbow will be ready till Wednesday to hold again. My BPs will give me some cuddle time tonight I am sure though.
-
That's the nice thing about adult boas, they only eat every four weeks, so there are lots of opportunities to hold them. I give them 4-5 days to digest their meals.
