    Update on snakes
So, took one of my snakes in yesterday (super pastel Banana) to an emergency vet clinic, they looked him over and said they couldn't see anything wrong with him, I still have my appointment set up with my main vet who specializes in reptiles for Monday. I come home and put him back, I wake up this morning and my daughters Pied and one of my het clowns were dead..... These both were part of the snake group I received from the people who had sold me these snakes...... Needless to say I am beyond heart broken and my daughter comes home in a few days and I have to tell her her baby who she named Smiley is no longer with us..... Not only did I lose a major player in my panda pied project but my daughter who did not like snakes until she saw this pied and fell in love....... She is going to be devastated...also turns out it wasn't diarrhea, it was pee and water then made it all bad looking, I did manage to get a fresh fecal to them from one of the other snakes that came in...so now it's a waiting game to find out what's going on. Plus we paid to have both snakes get an necropsy and see what the hell is going on.

Geez, I'm so so sorry. Especially for your daughter, she will no doubt be heartbroken.

I'm glad you're getting post mortems done, for the sake of your other animals you need to find out what happened. We're they still in quarantine?

Where did you purchase the snakes from? I'm not active every day at the moment so I haven't seen your original post.

Not sure how everything started? Can you explain why you have taken them or one to the vets?? Did you notice something or are they new and just wanted them to get checked out?? Sorry if you had a previous post but I am really interested.

And I am really sorry for your lost but hopefully you may help a few other people out.

The ones that died I paid for both of them to have necropsy done, the others seem perfectly fine, but so did these guys, I didn't notice anything abnormal about them. They are eating and shedding fine. I've only had them 2 weeks, this is week 3.

I'm not sure what could of caused it, but I hope you did proper quarantine procedures so if you have anything else they don't get sick. Sorry for your losses though.

Ok, so do you know how old they where or at least did they give you an idea?

Yes they were in the same quarantine room as my other two, still separated, who were just finishing quarantine, now they on their own. These snakes are costing a fortune to find out what is wrong, but at least I'll know.

Bear in mind now that two in QT have passed away the 90 day clock resets for everything in that room unless the vet finds something like cancer that isn't contagious.

I'm SO very sorry you lost these...hoping you (& your vet) can figure out what's wrong & that you won't lose any more. Sad for your daughter's loss too.
Not exactly a ringing endorsement of Craigslist finds...but you never know, & snakes are so stoic, it can be very hard to tell when they're sick, especially
    for vets or new owners.

I normally only buy from small breeders with good reviews, but this was a risk worth taking giving the morph of snakes involved.
