    Outdoor fun with Cosmo 2018
I haven't been handling him.much lately cause he's been on a food strike, but it was gorgeous out so I took him out for a few quick pictures...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8fecff1476.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2d72d36ccd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e7cb83f43f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...06563eb2ea.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...06bcaf4114.jpg

Cosmo is looking good, I wouldn't worry about the food strike (considering his size now) + it's a male and they are difficult ;)

What a cutie! Maybe the sun & fresh air will awaken his appetite too? Hope so...

Thank you! I'm not worried about him not eating, yet...
I'm thinking since he hit 60 grams he might have other things on his mind. He seems so tiny still, hahaha. I wouldn't mind a growth spurt once he starts eating again.

Hey Craig, post a pic of the guy you got around your neck in your profile pic. It would be cool.

Thanks!! They definitely are a fun species. So different from the other species I've kept or been around. Loads of personality in those little bodies.

Thanks! He's an easy model to shoot, hahaha. He sits pretty still for the most part. And that cute lil' hognose face does the rest.

Thanks! They really are adorable little snakes. And dramatic is a perfect adjective to describe them!

Great pictures! He's a very handsome boy. I love Western hogs, especially the males! Have to resist adding more of them ...

He just ate the other day for the first time since March 19. Only dropped 1 gram. I'm hoping he gets back on regular feeding and adds some grams, he's still pretty tiny. He hit 59 grams and stopped eating. I'd love to see him hit 100

The two males that I got young, also started fasting around the 60 gram mark.

I have read that 60 grams is a fairly common "wall" that male hognose hit. Fingers crossed he's past it and moving on...

Just when I think I might have settled for sand boas instead of a hoggie, I get pulled back in by Cosmo haha. Doesn’t help I discovered my husband has expressed an interest in them too :O

Cosmo is adorable!! He looks stunning in daylight!

Thanks!!! I love Cosmo to death. He's got so much personality crammed into that adorable little body. If you're looking for something small, a hognose definitely gets my vote. I'm not a fan of sand boas, personally. I've never been interested, so never kept one. I have handled a few, they're kinda fun to handle. Just not a snake for me.

Funny enough I ended up having the same reaction to sand boas. Got a chance to handle a few at Repticon yesterday and realized I was very "meh" with them. Definitely didn't fall in love like I have with other species. Hognoses on the other hand I adored! I can only imagine how awesome and fun it is to watch Cosmo's personality blossom!

It certainly is fun watching him grow. He's hitting a little growth spurt right now and seems a bit more confident in himself. Although he's always thought he's a big, tough, scary monster.

He's a cute "big, tough, scary, monster!"

He looks really nice and it sounds like you are doing a great job with him.

Good luck and I hope he keeps eating for you. I guess Hognose are the BP of colubrids, huh?

    Thank you!

And yeah, the BP of colubrids is a good analogy. Hahaha. He's definitely not the garbage disposal Django is, or any other Kings or corns I've kept. He went from mid March to early June, so not too bad. Django was happy to get a tiny, fuzzy "treat" every 10-14 days though.
