48" Neodesha Cages in 3 shelf rack, should I buy?
I was shopping around for pvc cages, and found a great deal on craigslist for some top of the line cages, which come together as a 3-pack and the holding racks. They are 4 foot long cages, designed for Boas, but I would like to move my large adult ball pythons into these one day.

I really don't need them now, but the deal is too good to pass up. I looked online to see what this package would cost me brand new... including shipping $1,650.00!!! (about a $1,050 plus $600 shipping, these are very large and heavy cages and a large rack.)
I offered $500 for the whole setup, if I come pick them up, and she said yes! So that is a $1,150 savings, if I can just get a pickup truck setup this weekend.
So before I go ahead with this purchase, which is virtually a no-brainer, I would like to hear opinions on the classic Neodesha cages. PLEASE! What do you think of these? They look really tough, no seams like most of the competition and easy to clean. Honestly they look far superior to Animal plastics, Boamaster, boaphile, PVC cages and the like.

I’m going to say yes, At one point I had 14 of these. In my opinion they are great tanks, hold humility, easy to clean. I don’t think you’ll regret it. I think you’ll be very happy. I sometimes rent a pickup truck from a locale home improvement store, you can usually get some sort of small truck for around 20$ to 30$. Go get them, bro. Their racks alone I believe cost more then that!
-
At that price you really can't go wrong, even if you decide they are not for you, you'll always be able to resell and get your money back.
I'd definitely do it.
If you're looking for a truck to rent I'd hurry due to the long weekend it may be tough to find something

The big advantage over other cages is the complete lack of seams, smooth corners and tilted design. Looks amazingly tough and easy to clean.

I've heard lots of good about Neodesha enclosures.
I've been looking at a few on CL myself, but haven't come across any deals like you found!!
I say heck yes!! Buy em!!!
Like said above, you can always sell them if you don't like them and possibly even for a profit. I'm jealous!!

Love them. Had 2 of those units..6 cages. Loved every thing about them. Have one 36 inch one now. Had to sell the other 6 back when I moved.
I would buy that in a heartbeat!

If that first pic is of the cages you are buying there is another bonus, they are clean!
Though cages are uncommon on my area CL, when they do show up they are always dirty and gnarlly looking. Sometimes they are missing glass or some of the glass is cracked.
What a killer deal for you. Good luck!

So it’s unanimous! Picking up this weekend. [emoji1]

I'd have gotten them already - but I have a pickup. :D
I'd also get a 41-qt rack for the BP's and put some nice boas in the Neodoshas.

I already have a 56 quart rack for my ball pythons. This is for the big female breeders to be on display for the future.
I like big enclosures, 41 quarts is for garter snakes. Lol

So I just talked to the husband and sealed the deal. He said they paid $1,650 for them, to house some juvenile Nile Monitors, but they quickly outgrew the cages, and now he is building custom 8 foot enclosures for his giant lizards!
So this setup is almost brand new!!!

Better run out and buy a lotto ticket while you still have the good mojo!:D

Congrats dude!!!!! :gj:
Great score!!!!

That’s so dope . I spent well over that building my pvc setup for my children. WELL over that . Glad you snagged them and in the bright side if you don’t like them for some reason you could always sell them for more Han what you paid for them . Win win in my opinion . Strong work bro

The glass doors still need to be cleaned, so they aren’t in yet.
-
Lucky duck. I never get anything like that on my CL. #bitterpartyof1 :(
-
That’s gangsta!! Those look so great.
I’d have 3 more boas if I scored that deal!!!
amazing.
There is this site called morph market. Not sure if you heard if it. If you click boa constrictors you will see a large assortment of fillers for those ;)!!! Lol

Congrats! Glad the deal worked out. That is one fine looking setup. :)

My 3 females are moved in! Took awhile to dial the temps to perfection. Using Fluker's under-tank heat mat 17"x11" on one side of each cage on the bottom. Using 75 watt moonlight heat bulbs turned down with dimmer switches for ambient temps. Both heat sources are on installed the left to create a thermal gradient.
Heatmats are on a Herpstat.

The really large box is so they can climb up and bask on the top of it under the heat lamps if they want to. AND... I may consider maternal incubation, which these large hides would be perfect for incubating clutches, giving space to coil and uncoil to regulate humidity, etc.

That cute little face popping out of the hide says it all;), congratulations on the super sweet pick up. I think your noodles will be pleased :gj::snake:

Yup! I concur, that's a great deal. I'm mostly a glass tank fan, but I've used some of these in the past & was pretty happy with them.
And yes, I'm late posting this...they look great, glad you went for it!
-
They turned out great, congrats on your execution. :)
