Which theme do you use the most?

I think most of us would agree that the blue default theme that came with our new software is pretty blah. New visitors see that theme first, and Admin Council is not very happy with that. So, we would like to set a new default theme, and we were wondering which theme you all use the most to try to help us determine what we should change it to.

I use the blue but just because i didnt bother to look at any others. It may be blah but like me, its easy on the eyes (see the picture thread). muaahaha

I like the earthtastic theme very much! :)

The corona is not too bad on the eyes either.

I change my mind, I like corona more than everything else :D

I have used earthtastic for as long as it has been around....by far my favorite

i like Sumatran Red... I guess I'm the only one.

my favorite is earthtastic.... but that's probably obvious. :P

Confession - I am the old-schooler stuck on the old site's colors (khak).

if default blue was a poll option I'd vote for that, out of the others Corona is most tolerable to me :P

I chose Khaktastic... most like the old site.

Darn it! Now I like kaktastic :mad:

Khaktastic is my favorite, followed by the earth toned one....well unless I feel like a total brat and put it on that bright pink foolery one just to drive my husband out his tree LOL! If you are looking for that catch the attention factor though I think Corona or the Red are the more striking ones.

yeah, i can't believe that foolery isn't one of the choices. man i feel dissed. :P :D

I'm boring. I just use default. It's easy on my eyes.

Plus, my computer will never keep a diffent theme if I choose one.

As am I, only because we dont have the all white blare you in the eyes blind one ;)

the khak is my second favorite.....I still like the bp skin effect in the earthtastic...:)

I also just use the default. I tried the others but came back to the default.

fyi: in your user control panel you can set what theme you want the site to have whenever you are logged in. if you go to "edit options" the "forum skin" option is the very last option on the page. whatever you choose there will be your own custom default theme. if you do not choose anything there then the theme will revert back to the regular default each time you visit the site.

I use Carona theme.

you can change the theme in a much easier route: its an option on every page at the bottum left of each page of posts... :)


I think I'm going back to default blue.

you can change it that way but then if you log out you have to change it again because it will revert back to the default blue theme and sometimes it just doesn't stick--so whenever you visit or clear your cache or whatever it is back to the default again. if you choose your theme in your control panel then it will always bring up the site in the theme you choose if you are logged in.

I guess if I had to pick one of the choices above, it would have to be the Khaktastic. But I hope that the blue is still an option to change to from the new default! ;)

mlededee, the theme should only revert back if and when you clear you cache and cookies. Otherwise if cache data is being saved correctly and your browser is set to accept cookies it will stay when changing themes from the drop down menu at the bottum of each page. I'm pretty strict with cookies and cache (using firefox) and when I changed the theme last night using this method it kept that theme for every other time I logged in until I changed it back to blue this morning myself..again using the drop down selection on this very page.

well i just know that the theme most always reverts back to default for me if i log out (or sometimes i get logged out automatically when firefox quits) and don't have it set in my user cp and that annoys me. it's easier for me just to set it in the cp and never have to mess with it again. (plus i'm on a mac and for whatever reason the theme menu dropdown on the lefthand side of the main portal page doesn't work. :confused: ) besides, i like to mess with settings and get things just how i like them. i'm a nerd, what can i say? :nerd:

You can say you are not alone!

The blue (default) isn't going anywhere it will always be an option (though I may swap out the fugly font banner up top occasionally then). Knowing which ones were preferred (if there were a huge gulf preferences) would help shape development of future themes when time is free for that.

And no diss meant leaving out Foolery - I mean as an April Fool's theme it survived as a choice until thsi day a testament to your talent and hard work :P

I have mine set in the USER CP.....that way if I log on bp.net from home, school, my parents home, or work, the earthtastic background is always there....if not, it always goes back to the BLUE (especially at school where cookies etc are deleted constantly)...so, for someone that is always on multiple computers, setting it in the USER CP is best..IMO :D

Most excellent point Daniel! I'm on a laptop wherever I am, and being that I don't change from the default blue anyway I wouldn't have cought that significant difference in the two methods for changing themes.

definatley the earthtastic after that the corona though and khaki is really similar to corona

but in my personal opinion the eath is the most easy on the eyez
