Are You Gonna Observe the Royal Wedding this Weekend?
so are u gonna watch the big royal wedding this weekend between Prince Harry of Wales and American Meghan Markle?
it's this Saturday, May 19, 2018 @ 12noon local time. or 7am EST or 4am my time on the West Coast! the nuptials will take place at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle and will be broadcast live on multiple TV networks around the world. i think it should be fun even tho i don't understand monarchies in modern societies but i do love all the pomp and circumstances of a big flashy wedding w/ some famous peeps. also i think it's a cool story, kinda like a fairy tale, of how a *normal girl fell in love w/ a Prince and now they are gonna marry!
i think Meghan Markle is gonna look sooo beautiful in her dress. i wonder if Prince Harry will sport his rugged look or if he will shave? will they get marry w/o issue? or will there be some drama! tune it to find out how this real life fairy tale goes!
also i can't wait to see all the fancy hats!
:colbert2: :fest: :cowboy: :graduate:
(fancy hat smilees)
-
I'm so excited it's stupid.
-
Only royal wedding I'd watch is if someone married two ball pythons.
-
i couldn't care less about the whole ordeal but i can't wait to see Meghan Markle. she is just gorgeous!!!
-
Doesn't interest me. I don't even like going to family/friend weddings most of the time. I'm certainly not going to be watching strangers get married on tv. Realistically, at that time I'll prob be watching some Three Stooges or doing some reading.
-
OMG :O Queen Elizabeth II is getting married?
-
Re: Are You Gonna Observe the Royal Wedding this Weekend?
Not to be insulting but the whole thing kind of reminds me of the Canadian Royal Wedding from South Park.....and I thought that episode was absolutely hilarious
-
If there was a negative number for caring that would be where I am at. But as such, I could not care less.
-
Seriously people?!? A beautiful American actress is marrying a dashing British Prince, who's mom was the coolest royal ever and y'all are totally unimpressed? It's not even a Lifetime movie - it's really happening!
I find it all incredibly romantic and imperfect and so even more romantic because it's kind of messy in a "love conquers all" kind of way.
Y'all are jaded.
-
Re: Are You Gonna Observe the Royal Wedding this Weekend?
Harry is not “the” Prince. Not the heir to the throne, Prince. William’s wedding was more compelling and now he has three children.
I find the history of the Royal Family more interesting than the present. But hey, more power to them. They seem to be doing a good job of representing the crown. But come wedding time, I’d rather be fishing and at the sandbar.

apathy is the new black. ;)
i just remember the media being so rude to her in the beginning  about her clothes to basically anything; from then on i rooted for her. lock that royalty down, girl!!!
also the Queen is a BA if there ever was one!

Re: Are You Gonna Observe the Royal Wedding this Weekend?
I'll probably tune in just because Harry is the only decent Royal .... since his mum .
I like the Megan as well ;)

Ok, now I kinda like the guy...
Now, if they ditch the uppity pomp and circumstance and swap in some bikinis, jager bombs and a jumbo slip and slide I may tune in.:D

Re: Are You Gonna Observe the Royal Wedding this Weekend?
So a man I never met and who has no bearing on my life what so ever, is marrying a woman I've never met and has no bearing on my life what so ever. The result of which will have no bearing on my life what so ever. So the questions is "Am I Gonna Observe the Royal Wedding"?
Gun to my head, I'd say "Pull the trigger".
When it's a Hallmark Movie, I'll cancel cable.
-
I’m sure i’ll watch the recaps if I’m not up when it’s aired. I think their story is cute. Im honestly more a fan of Meghan in particular than the relationship itself; I always seem to root for the underdogs and man the media and the public gave her a pretty hard time for a while.

I couldn't possibly care any less about the lives and lifestyles of the rich and famous here in the US let alone the ones in another country. I just have to wonder if this "fairytale" will end with her cheating and him supporting her for the rest of his life with alimony and child support like 80% of marriages here in the US...
-
Re: Are You Gonna Observe the Royal Wedding this Weekend?
I could give a urate about it. “Royalty” means nothing any more, just entertainment for people who have nothing better to do with their time. Like tabloids.
-
Re: Are You Gonna Observe the Royal Wedding this Weekend?
I'll admit it, I got teary-eyed. I'm not ashamed.
-
Nope.
Just don't care to. Didn't even keep up with the whole thing and didn't realize it was today until the pics popped up.
The only person I really liked in that family was Princess Di. And they treated her something terrible.
For her sake, I'm glad her sons found happiness.

Current divorce rate in the US is 40-50%— divorce rate due to infidelity on either part is 15%. It doesn’t need to be mentioned how incredibly ignorant or sexist you sound here...

I have to say I agree with Aedryan here. I'd never get married because signing that contract is a financial death sentence for a man. However I dont blame people for using the system to their advantage, the blame lies with those who put the sexist legal system in place.

of this royal couple: one is a party animal and known to get into drunken fights at clubs, the other is well liked and a good person and doesn't have photos of their bare butt from Vegas all over the internet.

Does anyone else find it weird that in 2018 they still have a "royal bloodline"? that's some medieval stuff right there.

I think a lot of the issue lies with people getting married when they’re not ready. If you don’t trust someone enough to be willing to marry and share your lives earnings with them then DONT do it. Or sign a pre-nup. The concept of marriage has lost so much value that people go willy-nilly into it and realize they’re not good together, have tough divorces and some even see other people in the process.
There will always be people out there intending to take advantage of others. Even more are tempted when the system favors them. I live in Texas and let me tell you, it’s a damn cold day in hell when a man keeps his kids or house in divorce court here. It’s just wrong to generalize all women as money fiends and gold diggers like that.

Omg that tiara!! She looks so happy in that photo, and beautiful— wish I could see Prince Charmings face lol

I see what you're saying. The law of averages suggests there must be women out there who wouldn't do it as well as women who would do it. Same thing with men.
I'm not willing to risk it though. I feel if a woman truly loves me then a piece of paper and a piece of metal won't change that. To me the fact we love each other is worth more than getting married to attain other people's approval.
If two people were the last two people on Earth they wouldn't get married because there's no one else there to approve of it. I want my relationship to involve just me and my partner, not anyone else and not the court system.
That all being said, I think if two people like the idea of being married and cherish it then more power to them [emoji1476]

Incredibly ignorant? Sexist? Are we now allowed to be incredibly rude and disrespectful of other's views and call other members names now, admins? If so, I don't think this person would like my response very much. Otherwise, I won't allow myself to be trolled into another infraction by someone mouthing off behind the safety of their computer screen...

I am surprised that in 2018 people are still getting married though. That's some medieval ideology right there... then again so is the royal family [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Happily married for 20 years to my best friend. Just went to a 70th(!) wedding anniversary party for a lovely couple. Old married couplesfor the win!!
And yes it's true, choose wisely. The red flags are often ignored in courtship and chickens eventually come home to roost. ;)

Maybe we should be asking Charles .... I'll never forgive him but guess he's not too bothered about that ...
It takes the Royal biscuit to actuality marry the woman he cheated on Diana with and then the Royals welcome her into their family !!!!!!!
Aghhhhh !!!!

Thank you.
Not only did he cheat on Diana. He married her purely because it was expected to have a appropriate wife. He never meant to be faithful, never loved her, never even tried to be a husband. He did his duty to father some heirs, used her as a brood mare, and then continued to break her heart and spirit, bit by bit. He is a spineless troll.
They used her and abused her. Chewed her up and spit her out. She was such a good person, so young. When she finally found the strength to break away and find a bit of happiness for herself, they destroyed that too. How very alone she must have felt.
There is nothing fairy tale about that family and never has been. One only has to look into their history, which goes a long way back and is interesting if nothing else.
I do wish Diana's sons well. They are the legacy she left behind and there is a lot of her in them still, or so I hope, for their sake.
