A morph or no?
I picked up "Seymour" (as the box-store employees named him/her) as a normal on sale for $40. She looked nothing like my actual normal so I figured I would snag him/her as a deal.
What are your thoughts?

Edit: any belly pix?

Re: A morph or no?
Pretty little thing. Maybe a bright normal. The way I see it, Unless you are breeding, the morph really doesn’t matter, its a beautiful pet.

Thank you, this one and my normal are pets. Unless they are females. ;) Working up the courage to probe but would like someone else to teach me; the linked video from this site was very helpful and encouraging.

Re: A morph or no?
What gets me (obviously still learning) is the orange coming up his/her sides and the head marking. (S)he is awesome once I get him/her out, but (s)he also loves to "snort" or puff out air when I first touch him/her.

yes, those are flames and a headstamp. i do think it's a Mystic/Phantom YB. all the signs are there. others may also chime in.
u got a good deal.

You got me curious too now, a looker regardless. Yeah someone with a trained eye needs to take a peak. But yeah, I see what Ax is saying.

Re: A morph or no?
I deffo see yellowbelly but don't have enough experience with mystic/phantom to judge yay or nay.

Re: A morph or no?
my first thought before opening the thread was Mystic/Phantom.
a very beautiful baby.

Way to bright for a normal I think. A stunner for sure!

Re: A morph or no?
Does anyone else have any thoughts? I’ve been googling and making comparisons to known morphs as well and will post up what I think after more research. Thanks!

I’m confident calling him a yellowbelly. However I would think the phantom yellow belly would be darker and more blushed.
We have a couple of hobbiests on the site who work with phantom/mystic, maybe one of them will chime in.

Re: A morph or no?
I have been wondering. What is the definitive difference between a normal and a yellowbelly. Also, how can you identify it through thier colors and patterns?

A morph or no?
I have pretty much narrowed it down to Phantom #2 + Spark ... phantom looks like it has more “cherios” and mine has more alien heads like Phantom #2
This is pretty much my snake ... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f1a5190de4.jpg ... still investigating yellow belly.
Thoughts?
Thanks for everyone’s input thus far!

If you do a quick search on this forum or Google you should come up with some nice photo comparisons, but YB have a very clean belly that is edged by some checkering before going to the side pattern. Sorry I don't have any belly shots of Sunny to show. :(

Me too, based on limited experiences, I think that's what drew to me Spark instead of Pastel, especially since Spark (het Puma) shows flames and lighter coloring. Headstamp is there too.

the telltale signs can be subtle given the variation within the morph but some other things to look for include the marking on the head and flames - blushing that comes up from the belly between the pattern.

the pattern looks like a clash of BEL and an enhancer gene, there's a good mix of alien heads, cheerio's/speech bubbles and attempted cheerio's/speech bubbles. your Spark (combo) theory is a good one.
regardless - u definitely have a morph. it's just unknown which enhancer and BEL gene is all in there IMO until it's proven out.
Edit: pair it to a YB or Mojo and see if a Puma or Passion/Potion or BEL animals hatches. :)
