What additions do you want/plan to add this year?
Spring is here! Permanently, i'm praying. After having such an extended cold season, at least here in the northeast US, we're finally back to solid warm weather, preferably for the next few months. That also means, of course, that with breeding season underway, ball pythons are being shipped all over! With all of this underway, I was curious, what expansions are you all hoping to grab to your collections, or just want in general (even if you aren't planning to buy!)? I'm dying to grab myself a pied or an albino morph, or maybe a Blue Eyed Leucistic. Seems my mind is already making excuses that Paarthurnax is lonely and needs a friend.

I just recently got a few pairs! Clown x Enchi Clown and Pinstripe Het Desert Ghost x Pinstripe Desert Ghost.
Pretty excited to pair my Banana in with these guys!

I'm at a mental crossroad right now. I won't be adding anything for a while still, I'm updating enclosures first...
BUT...my girlfriend has gotten more comfortable with me keeping snakes in the house and subsequently has ok'd something a "little" bigger. So since I was previously a bit more limited by length as to what I could keep, my options have opened up a bit.
So here's my conundrum: I'm torn on adding boas, or sticking to pythons for now. If I add another python it would most likely be a carpet, but I'm still a ways away and considering a bredl's, a super dwarf retic or a white lipped python.
I feel like if I go with another python I'll probably stick to pythons exclusively moving forward.
If I go boa, it'll most likely be a locality of BCI that stays on the smaller side, but a BRB is a strong possibility as well.
Anyway, enclosure upgrades are first, so I've got plenty of time to decide and do my homework. And if I know myself like I think I do, I'll probably change my mind a few times anyway...

Im trying to convince my wife to let me get a BRB, I love those snakes and want one so bad lol, shes just starting to get comfortable with the pythons, so we will see lol

Posted in the wrong thread... but since I'm here anyway, the only new additions I'm planning on are a few holdbacks. I got a lovely spider leopard in my first clutch. If it's a girl I'm keeping it.

Let's see....
Hoping to add an enchi fire yellowbelly female if I can get one after I move into my new house next month.
Also want a ghi blackhead or ghi hidden gene woma male for my evil plans, but that may be even harder to come by.

I actually keep a running 'wish list' of possible projects to get into. This is what I have so far, prices range from $300 to $1200+ I'm actually leaning towards the Pastel Freeway female...

Pastel TSK Axanthic |
Het Sunset |
Black Pastel Pied |

That pastel asphalt sounds like quite the snake!

I'm not getting any more snakes anytime soon, but in the future, I would love to own a piebald. :)

I've been actively browsing GTPs. My first BP (first snake) has been thriving since I got him in December. I think those deep red baby GTPs are so cool. I've been researching them and consensus is they aren't very social. And that's perfect for me, because I only handle to clean, weigh, and inspect. I'm more into watching the snake live his life. I'll probably pull the trigger eventually, but I'm still going to wait until I consider my BP an adult.

This is not wishful, this is inbound for future projects in a few weeks.

Fire Pastel |
Het Clown |

My wish list is just waiting for some visual DGs and Ultramel combos to hatch and put those in the lineup.
I am looking for an absolutely perfect Mahogany Sub Adult female (only cause I don't want to be fooled by GHS - Gorgeous Hatchling Syndrome) |

A colubrid is definitely happening. I'm almost tempted to get two, but I'm not sure how that would work out right now.
I have an ever-expanding want-list, trust me. I'm just also trying to be realistic on what I can currently keep lol.

My vote is Kingsnake, hehehe

Colubrids have started to gain my attention lol. This year I'll be getting my melanistic russian ratsnake and I think that will be my limit for some time. SOMEWHERE along the road, I do have my sights on a western hognose so who knows 3-5 years from now haha. Rhino rat snake and jungle carpet python are also under my consideration list.
-
I am good when it comes to BP I am looking toward other species, I just want to work with a live bearer species.
-
I've been looking at southern white lipped pythons for awhile, but definitely won't add any snakes until the end of the year or even later, because my new puppy is taking up a ton of my time and thoughts and mental fortitude LOL. But I would like something with high iridescence!

Re: What additions do you want/plan to add this year?
I’m looking for a Pastel Axanthic! I really wanted an axanthic pied but the price is utterly to high for my blood lol. But I’ll probably end up with 3 bps by the end of the year an axanthic pastel, orange dream, and some kind of banana with spots!

I'd really love a nice super fire ball or similar- not completely white, but white with a goodly spattering of yellow patches, and quite possibly female. A nice champagne ringer of some sort is also pretty high up on my list, but it would probably be smarter to look for an attractive black head combo of any gender before picking one of those out (nothing is catching my eye in that department right now, and even if it did, I'm telling myself I can't afford it anyhow :P). I doubt I'll be getting any more this year, sadly, as I'm waiting until I have a PVC tank for Horatio, and will also need to buy new tires for my car before winter. :(
An apricot Pueblan milk might be more reasonable, as they're pretty cheap and I already have a 10 gallon glass tank on hand for a baby if I go that route.
