Hello from Canada!
Hi everyone! I'm a Canadian who very recently got seriously interested in keeping snakes. I've loved snakes for a long time and always wanted to own one, and it looks like I'll finally be able to when I move this summer. I've been doing lots of reading and this forum has been an invaluable resource for me :)
I'm still a student with limited space, so I'm probably not going to get too ambitious with the hobby. After much deliberation I've tentatively settled on the gopher snake as my first noodle (which I'm hoping I'll be able to find and purchase without too much difficulty).
If any of you are located in the Toronto area I'd love to chat, and maybe get some pointers for a total newbie :D Anyway, I love what I've seen of the site so far, and can't wait to learn more about snakes!

Gophers are great looking snakes - and from what I have seen generally eat like a bucket. :D

Welcome! I'm originally from Canada so it's nice to see a fellow Canadian! Gopher snake sounds like a totally awesome pick!

Thanks so much for the warm welcomes, everyone! I can't wait to get the gopher in my life and participate lots here :snake:

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of snake keeping!!!
Toronto is a fantastic city. I've been there and Niagara Falls a handful of times for hockey tournaments.
...might be too soon, but GO BRUINS!!!
Man, the Leafs made that a fun series to watch!! Freddy Anderson was phenomenal all series.
Anyway, welcome! I've never kept gophers, but they seem like a cool species. Good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome. Never been to Canada. Not big on cold winters. I have been to several countries though and love to travel. Things thawing out up there?

I've only been to Toronto, Niagara Falls and Montreal. All three are beautiful cities.
But seriously, see Niagara Falls at some point in your life. Go during the summer and see it day and night. It's breathtaking.

Re: Hello from Canada!
Toronto IS a beautiful city! I considered going to the university there as well, but ended up staying in the states. I've always wanted to go back and take my husband.
craigafrechette: Too soon! I wanted the Leafs to win that one! I'm out already because my Blue Jackets lost out to the Capitals, and now the Leafs too... I've still got the Jets and the Knights (because I love an underdog story).

Hahaha!! I'm hoping for a "W" tonight. Going up 2-1 would be huge.
I'm pulling for the Knights in the West.
