Careful with checkin in too much because if you do see a lock and the female feel disturbed she will drag that Male around by the hemipenes....not recommended.
Learned that my first season with a small male.

Thanks for the tip. I'm leaving them alone until this evening when I put him back in his tub. They have come close but no official lock. Time to refill on patience.

Re: And. Here. We. Go.
Today was the 2nd pairing and I wasn't able to check on them much this morning or afternoon as I was looking at a potential house but he seems far more confident this time. Going on almost 10 hours together and he's still all over her. They both seem to be receptive. On Thursday he was far away from her and had zero interest which was a major shift from earlier in the day. One more pairing this week and hopefully I'll catch a visual lock. Fingers crossed he was able to get the job done even though I didn't witness a lock.

Such a cute couple, having a Queen "Fat Bottom Girls " moment good luck :gj:

One witnessed lock and two suspected locks based on his behavior later in the evenings after checking on them from in the afternoon. Hopefully she has a pre-lay shed in the next two weeks and drops some fertile eggs.
Fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed for you!!!
...and when you say "suspected locks based on his behavior later in the evenings" can I assume he was caught bragging to his buddies about his conquest?? Hahaha, just jokes, obviously.
But in all seriousness, out of curiosity, what type of behavior is indicative of prior locks? I just love learning stuff like this...

I caught him trying to talk through the opening at the top of the tub to one of the other males in the rack. He was talking about how he found heaven and it was an albino female.
The behavior I was told was from Jeff Galewood at JMG. His experiences over the years have been a male that locked with the female will lose interest after, may be on the other side of the tub, not pursuing her or nowhere near where she is. Complete opposite of his attitude from before when he was literally all over her and would follow her everywhere while also trying to lock. Now we're just waiting to see if she lays eggs in the next few weeks. No signs of shedding yet. The wait is horrible.

Thanks for the reply and info, I appreciate it. That's more or less what I was expecting.
I guess they're not cuddlers and he's wishing he could just call a cab and head home, hahaha.
Anyway, thanks again. My fingers are crossed for you...

My pleasure! I've tried to learn as much as I could ahead of pairing them but I'm finding that there are still questions and things I missed or didn't think about until it was happening.
She seems to be extremely restless during the day with constantly cruising around her tub. I'm hoping that's a sign of what's to come and she lays a fertile clutch. My anxiety is having a field day with the waiting but I'm trying to stay positive.

We were deep in shed on Sunday. Tonight she's been in her lay box. Fingers crossed she sheds soon and lays eggs!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ff5117560c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...def713ceec.jpg

Re: And. Here. We. Go.
It's been what feels like an eternity but Luna started laying yesterday. I saw one slug and then nothing again until this morning. She laid 12 eggs in total with 11 being slugs. One egg is now in the incubator and looks to be healthy. Fingers crossed a little head pops out around the 55 day mark. Here are some pictures after she swelled up like a balloon and the aftermath. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c29ab54501.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bf7f96b0df.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2744919d7e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b1677962d5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...965125f88c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...99f3b8d0d1.jpg
