    Exepcting a new girl
One of my dream snakes is an Eastern Indigo. Any gender any age, simply pet only i have no intention on breeding them.

But they're a bit out of my price range right now.

I made a compromise with myself though. Until i can get an indigo, id settle for a black pine or mexican black kingsnake. See the pattern? I want an all black snake.

Every time a mbk was available, they were sold within an hour of being posted, no matter what site or store i was on. No local reptile shops carried them either. And finding black pines is not as easy as i would have liked either.

But i saw a female mbk posted. And paid for her. She'll be shipped out monday. Im so excited and am setting up the new enclosure for her today after work/monday after work. Im truly ecstatic and eager to get her.

She'll not be my first kingsnake owned, i used to own them when i was way younger.

Congrats on the new girl. Can't wait to see pics.

I agree with you on Eastern Indigos. I didn't think they could be purchased as I thought they were a protected/endangered species. Are there people breeding and selling them?

Yes, but due to their protected status if you dont purchase in the state theyre located in, you have to get a permit to have them shipped. Its $100 application fee and takes a few months to get accepted. Most breeders will help you through the process.

Congrats on bringing a King back into your collection.

...and now I think I'll go grab Django to hang out for a bit. He'll be eating tonight and is coming up on a shed, so I'll get some hang out time today while I can...might be a good week before I can handle him again...

Now to decide on a name.

    My balls are disney.
    Hognoses are game of thrones
And my boas are hunger games.

    Harry potter perhaps?

Shes arrived! They didnt even knock. She arrived HOURS ahead of schedule (due around 4, arrived at 10)

Luckily i checked my phone and the email came in to tell me she was delivered. Shes now in her quarantine area.

Shes so pretty. Snapped a quick few pics to post. Shes now hiding with her head poking out looking around. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d13301073a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...50a8cf1a0b.jpg

Indigos are one of my REAAAALLLY wanted species, but unfortunately are out of my price range so i went with a mbk for now [emoji4]
Shes adorable, especially when she rattles her tail, so it was totally worth it and she wont be leaving any time soon.
