    Any Good Youtube Reptile Channels?
I saw a thread like this on a FB group and thought I'd start one here. I'd like to know what channels you enjoy watching on youtube and what they cover.

I know there are people on youtube that have a bad rep., or are generally maligned, but lets try to not focus on that and keep it positive. I know I could really use some new people to watch and (hopefully) help support by subscribing and liking their material if they produce good videos.

To get us started, I'll post a few of the ones I enjoy below.
    1. NERD- mostly BP, Monitor, and Retic related, but interesting care videos and commentary on things like genetics.
    2. JKR-- Care / tip videos, cutting and clutch videos, and morph information. Almost exclusively BPs

    3. Olympus Reptiles- Cuttings, Clutches, Genetics, General care, Some venomous, mostly BP related

    4. Hissy Fit Reptiles- *same as above, but all BP related*

    5. Royal Constrictor Designs- Gerrick's channel, all BP related

    6. Rooted in Reptiles- All BTS related information on care

    7. The Dart Frog Queen- Dart frog viv setups, culturing food, chameleons

    8. Dav Kaufman- "herper's TV" and "hobby breeders" series plus his vlog. Interviews with breeders, tours of facilities, herping in foreign countries

    9. Kamp Kenan- Mostly about reptiles in his facility, but also tours and interviews others, rescue / relocation, etc.

    10. Brian Gundy- Good information on Boas and BPs, mostly morph related, but also care.

    Booper
My favourite is Balls2U, love watching his clutch cutting and listening to his thoughts regarding ball pythons. He is a UK based snake owner though, so views might not line up to American standards!

    My take on them

    1. NERD- Only big name with real passion
    2. JKR-- Big Name - Great Morphs - Should do more informational videos. They come off across sometimes as sales pitches more than anything else.
    3. Olympus Reptiles- Good Info but lately rants and sponsored by TGR who refuses to resolve their tape connection issues...
    4. Hissy Fit Reptiles- weird voice - cant listen too long.
    5. Royal Constrictor Designs- Garrick is AWESOME - I have a bunch of his stuff.
    6. Rooted in Reptiles- Gonna check them out
    7. The Dart Frog Queen- Gonna check them out
    8. Dav Kaufman- Weird Dude
    9. Kamp Kenan- Just discovered his channel...
    10. Brian Gundy- Probably the most genuine person who wants to help inform about reptiles on EARTH

Not a big YouTube person, but I really enjoy Reptile Discovery. There isn't a ton of ball python specific videos, because that's not one of the species she keeps (although there are a couple about helping a friend's beeps after they were recovered from a house fire...), but she does quite a few general snake and reptile education videos. Viewers can even vote on which pet they want to see get fed next, and there's quite a variety to choose from- hoggies, kingsnakes, garters, some boas I think, retics, egg eating snakes, toads, fish, geckos, turtles, and even a stunted alligator she rescued.

Triple B TV- interviews and collection features with a variety of reptile breeders
    Always Evolving Pythons- ball pythons
DM Exotics- Unusual colubrids and pythons, also field herping trips to Thailand and surrounding areas
    Reach Out Reptiles- reticulated pythons
    Godbold Exotics- arboreal boas
K Brothers Pythons (not doing new videos, but they have some really good stuff on their channel)- Australian pythons

Also here are some good radio shows if that is your thing:
    Morelia Python Radio
    Corallus Radio
    Green Tree Python Keeper Radio
    Herpetological Highlights
    Chameleon Breeder Podcast

drthik1 has some great videos on Burms and Retics. His big albino Burm girl Cornflake and male Goldenchild Retic Moses are always good to see.

I've been watching viperkeeper lately. His channel is entirely venomous snakes, but it's fascinating to see so many of them since I don't have any plans to keep any.
(and where I live, meeting one would be either a copperhead or a rattlesnake... both not a good idea)

His commentary working with them is pretty funny and the variety of animals is amazing. Videos span back at least 10 years, so there's a lot of content to see.

I really enjoy watching State48 Exotics videos... could be because Im pretty sure I have a crush on Joel ... but in reality hes just starting out on his breeding program, but hes got some beautiful animals that he likes to show off and talk about, and its been fun to watch him progress.

I second Viperkeeper as well, I like to put his videos on in the background while Im doing stuff around the house. Its entertaining to hear a fully grown man talk to some of his snakes the way Al does. I feel like *for the most part* he also promotes smart and safe handling of his hots, which I think is important.

SnakeBytes /AnimalBytes. Surprised that hasn't been mentioned that I could see.

And while not 100% reptiles, Brave Wilderness is amazing all around animal content.

I particularly like Snake Discovery. Emily has tons of charisma and is a great spokesperson for the hobby.

I also really enjoy Dav Kaufman with the Reptile Channel. He has this cool eccentric vibe that I enjoy. I get such a kick everytime the show begins with Rainbow Mealworms presents.... I never before imagined mealworms being branded, let alone sponsoring a show!

I used to watch the Viper Keeper, in fact it was his videos that reignited my interest in snake-keeping. But it just got so repetitive. He has all these beautiful and fascinating snakes, but he never really gives any detail on them. He just says its a such and such, and then we watch in silence as he feeds it a thawed mouse. Every episode is a huge missed opportunity to educate a clearly interested audience.

I also don't like that he is constantly having shedding issues. I'm a rank novice to be sure, but as I understand it, difficulties shedding are indicative of health/stress problems.

thanks for the commentary on the other youtubers. I'm always looking for new snake videos to watch!

I just checked out The Viper Keeper and have to say that his intro seems a bit reckless. Also not sure it's a good idea not having locks on enclosures containing venomous snakes but I guess he's the expert lol. I have a feeling it's a case of 'when' rather than 'if' he gets bitten.

I don't think he's worried about anyone stealing them. :)

He has older videos that touch on both your concerns.

I believe I've seen him use shims (wooden shims) in the glass doors to prevent them from sliding until he removes them. I did notice in a recent video that there wasn't a shim in place, but maybe he's removing them now before filming or isn't using them anymore. I do like that there is a verbal warning about keeping hots in his intro, but agree about the "dramatics". I've only occasionally watched him. I agree that I wish he talked more about each species while working with them it would make it a lot more educational.

I don't recall which video, but one I saw a few weeks ago (probably an old one since I'm not watching in order), but he explained that the pieces of wood he puts in the glass weren't for holding the doors shut at all. They're to keep the glass from rattling if or when an agitated snake strikes at it.

If the glass can't rattle, it would be less noisy for both video and personal sanity imo.

'From the Ground Up' does their weekly show live on YouTube. I more listen to them as podcasts but occasionally load up the show when I am stuck in the lab

Some I haven't seen already put up.

BC Pythons- relatively new to the reptile hobby. Breeds balls but has a boa and just got some leopard gekos. He also builds PVC enclosure and recently showed a rack that can grow with the snake to include bigger tubs. Bill is a cool guy and I enjoy the channel.

Boxingboa- mainly breeds boas and carpets but has all different kinds of snakes. Is always real and honest really enjoy his videos.

Intelligent design reptiles - breed ball pythons I enjoy some of their videos but don't watch all of them.
