    Chocolate morph?
Hey everyone! I am new to the forum and new to ball pythons. I've been reading up on them for about five months now and I am finally picking up my first on Sunday. She is a juvenile chocolate morph, and until I spoke with her current owner I had never heard of the chocolate gene. So, I'm curious..what characteristics set a chocolate apart from a normal, or other morphs? My eye isn't good enough yet to pick up on subtle differences. Seeing as I just want her as a pet, I really don't care what color she is, but I've always been fascinated by genetics! I can post photos once I have her if it helps. Thanks!

Welcome. ... Never heard of a Chocolate Royal morph sorry ...

Maybe best to do some quick Google researching just in case the new morph has some 'issues '..

Chocolate is pretty cool and really underrated in my opinion. Lots of awesome stuff still to be done with chocolate. Jeremy over at Fireball Reptiles is in the midst of some pretty cool chocolate projects if you’re looking for eye candy; his chocolate desert ghosts are just stunning.

Thanks for the input everyone! Very cool. Unfortunately, I think it'll just take my eye some time 😆 Every time I think I've got it down I see a normal that I could've sworn looked chocolate to me. I wish there were obvious markers, like eye color or some belly pattern!

Choco is cool when you put it with stuff. I think it darkens them. My girl is a pastel chocolate basically.

Cool!! Does anyone know what a single gene chocolate snake would typically sell for? I'm just curious really, since I didn't buy directly from a breeder. All the ones on morph market are some other combo as well so it's difficult to tell.

A single gene chocolate could go anywhere between 100 - 150 depending on sex and what the breeder chooses to sell for.
