Howdy from Oregon
Hi everybody. I'm very thankful for this website, I've learned so much and am still learning. I just got this guy off craigslist yesterday, the owner said he is a ghost pastel, which I think is correct, but if anyone can verify that for me that would be great. He isn't as shy as I was expecting considering he is in a new home, I have him in a 55 gallon so lots of room to grow. He hasn't told me his name yet, we are still getting to know each other. I'm allergic to most substrates, I'm currently using corrugated cardboard and paper towels which I saw some other BP owners use, after exploring every nook and cranny he went and took a nap under his rock, so he seems content with the set up. Good question. Kepler, Harlow, Helix, Trigger, and Judge Dredd are at the top of my list. :)

Re: Howdy from Oregon
I wasn't going to feed him so soon but he told me he was hungry last night. He's already on adult F/T mice and it has been a week since his last meal according to previous owner. Took him about 80 seconds from the moment I put it in his tank to strike it, and about 5 minutes to get it down, yay. He is in siesta mode today. Everything is easy-going with this guy, love him. He likes to sleep under a crocheted hammock I keep next to one of his hides on the cool side of the tank most of the day so far.

Re: Howdy from Oregon
Thank you, I lucked out finding him/her on craigslist. I was told it was a male, but I tried popping yesterday and didn't see hemipenes, either I was too gentle or they're so tiny I couldn't see them, or he is a she. Also I don't think he/she is 6 months, got a scale and weighed 250 grams, I suspect around 5 months old. I can't remember if the hemipenes are just really small at 5-6 months or if I should at least see something, no sperm plugs either.
I asked the previous owner what the color background was, the breeder was from the Portland Expo and gave her this info: sire is pastel lesser hypo, and the dam is BPO3HHY (female sign#1) trying to figure out what that means. My best guess is black pastel, O3? het hypo, no birth date but had a previous clutch on June 9th, 2016. Tried figuring out who the breeder was but no luck.

Re: Howdy from Oregon
It's a boy! I found a snake breeder in my area and she popped him for me, turns out he just has really small hemipenes.

Atom decided to eat his most recent meal backwards and while hanging from his hammock. He still ate it within a few minutes, going to increase to 2 mice on his next meal, I would switch to fuzzy rats but the feeder breeders I've contacted are all out of stock.

If on FB join Oregon Reptile Classifieds, there's a couple feeder breeders on there with great prices.

Thank you :)
The first couple days I had him he kept climbing up the temperature probe, and wanted to be on the tank lip that the lid sits even though he doesn't fit on it, so I put that hammock up and he has used it every day since, especially right after he wakes up around 5pm, it's his basking spot too. He sleeps under his rock hide during the day. My tank is big enough that I have water bowls on both sides, he always drinks from the cool side which I have placed on a rack so he can climb up to drink.
Also trying out a knit hide I made, he uses it t climb down sometimes, and it helps with humidity.
