Wait...my girlfriend wants WHAT?!?!!?!?!?!?!?

So the other day while my hognose, Cosmo, was out with me my girlfriend said something along the lines of "I still can't believe I think a snake is sooo cute. I think I want a hognose of my own." I almost dropped Cosmo I was so surprised!!!
She went on to ask "are there pink hognose?" Well, as a matter of fact...so we look at some different hognose morphs and I think she actually wants "her own" snake. So basically, I may be getting another little hognose that will be "hers". She'll name him/her and I'll care for and feed the new addition!!!

Time will tell, but I'm stoked she even thought about it!! Just a few years ago she was afraid of snakes!!
Now, she's cool with all of mine and possibly wants to add another...fingers crossed!!

that's so awesome to hear she's becoming an enthusiast!!! even if it won't actually be "hers," that's a step in the right direction! everyone caves eventually... :P

Yeah, she's been supportive from the first day I was allowed ONE snake. Now the fact that she actually appreciates and admires them is awesome. I definitely have one of the good ones :P

Yup!! Cosmo is the only one she's truly comfortable with, and the only one she'll actually take out of the enclosure. Granted she's only grabbed him twice, but hey, gotta crawl before you walk.
I'm super stoked she's grown to really respect what awesome animals snakes actually are. She's come a LONG way.

DON't DO IT IT'S A TRAP! That is how I ended up with a GTP. My husband wanted one and now I am taking care of it

That's very cool, still working on that with my husband of 14 years :rolleyes: but Hognose are too ugly, BP are too big :rofl:, he likes the Honduran Milksnakes though.

BPs are big??? I must have missed that memo, hahahaha. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder and size is relative. Plus, it would be a boring world if we all like the same thing. ;)

She still only holds Tyson, the BP for a minute or two tops at a time. Django, the King, she'll hold a little longer, but no more than 5 minutes. And she DEFINITELY wont reach into their enclosures. She's preaky squeamish about the new Borneo too...
She'd hold Cosmo all day if I let her, as long as the cat wasn't on her lap first, haahaha.
I'll take it! She's a trooper and a keeper!!! On top of putting up with ME, she allowed me to get back into a hobby I was passionate about and she was afraid of. She supports me whole heartedly. Man, I love that girl!!

Haha, that's how my husband is. He likes the ball pythons and will hold them, but he won't reach into their enclosures.

He had been going with me to reptile shows for years before he finally wanted to buy his own reptile... and it turned out to be a crested gecko!

My boyfriend was like that at first - scared of my little baby banana california king of all things - and now he has a columbian red tail (rescued) and a pastel ball of his own.

My Cal King was the snake that made my girlfriend "like" snakes. She loves Django, but he's actually my only snake who's ever bit either of us, and he's gotten us both. So now she's a little shy around him.
She loves Cosmo now too. I'm hoping she decides to get "her own".

Hahahaha, she doesn't like him so much. He's still upstairs in his quarantine enclosure, so she hasn't been around him much. I think she likes it that way. Something tells me she'll never really like him, she tends to not like "big scary heads" and his head dwarfs Tyson's already. They are less than 50 grams apart, but a Borneo head is soooo much bigger than a BP head.
I don't like him anymore either, ever since he became an Eagles fan!!! Hahahahaha!!
Just kidding, I already love him. He's been chill so far. Still no strikes. He hisses a little, but just wimpy little hisses so far.
