My img
Introducing my Hypo img het black eyed anery called “Medusa “ we called her this as when I went to pick her from the breeder she pretty much hissed and struck for the whole two hour drive, and I’m sure she would turn you to stone the way she looked at you, it’s took over six months to be able to handle her with out her nipping me, she would always strike the glass soon as you walked in the room, I started tap training her straight away and when she was by the glass I would slide it slightly and stroke her to get her used to me, I was quite close into giving up but I’m glad I didn’t as she actually quite relaxed now and she getting darker each shed, I’m still a bit wary as she looks like she could strike but I can now get her out with the hook at least except she likes to wrap her self round Every branch in her viv
This was when I first got her last April https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3b7899b911.jpg the tail colour is amazing she’s lost a bit of red now she’s getting darker, she is litter mate to the worlds first black devil boa https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...32494e82b5.jpg
As soon as you walked in the room she was like this https://youtu.be/QqWmfn0Nwh0
Now she’s quite pleasant and growing so fast she is two in April 2018

I love the circular saddles in her markings , think it’s the ca in her, which is probably why she was a grump aswell, most of my others have square saddles

Don’t take this the wrong way. But my first thought when I saw her was. I hate your guts.:D She looks great, I’ve got to get me one.

My img
Thanks c0r3yr0s3 and tigerhawk ,I’m really pleased with the progress she has made with her attitude, she was too nice to give up on her, patience was deffo the name of the game, she even bit her self when I got her out once she moved her own tail and she spun around so fast and nipped her self ,lol
just not sure who to pair her with when she’s old enough ,probably my albino jungle, jungle img are pretty cool .you don’t see many of these around in the U.K.
this is her favourite spot off her shelf and slinked over the branchhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6524a750b4.jpg

Either way, gorgeous animal!
Glad she has calmed down for you. I read that right, she is calmed down a bit?
No fun having and angry 7FT+ snake!
Best of luck, you should enjoy watching her grow and change, and then enjoy her for a long time to come!

My img
Thanks dakski
Yes she has massively so don’t even the need the hook really now, tends to wrap her self round every single branch trying to get her out tho lol, but once out is proper chilled now. she’s well over 4ft now nearing 5ft so I’m glad she’s relaxed ,as you say an angry 7ft girth girl is not a fun time,
I think she will be a big girl as she isn’t two till April

WOW - big girl!
My 1 1/2 year old is about 3 1/2 feet and 700G.
I am fine if she is 6-7FT or so and not huge, but either way, I will love her. Except for a strong feeding response, she is puppy dog tame from day one.
Good she's calmed down for you.
She really is a pretty girl, can't wait to see her colors change as she grows!
Good luck buddy! Enjoy her!

Re: My img
Thanks dakski
10 of my others are just like your girl proper chilled except for feeding response as you say , lol
just my adult female who I had babies from last year, she’s 7 years old but only 5ft but a solid girl, she was a bit of a rescue so the damage already been done, she’s tagged me a fair few times, but she’s the only one, touch wood

Some people have too much money!! I am jealous lol. I was looking at IMGs but all the ones i wanted were like $3000+. For that price, I'd be hard pressed not to get a male pied retic or a high blue GTP :)
Nice looking snake though.

Re: My img
Thanks sauzo, i can’t believe how fast she is colouring up ,deffinetly from a great gene pool, there actually not that expensive over in the U.K. no way near that that price anyway for some reason there’s not that many in the U.K. as they look so cool

Lucky. They are still pretty darn spendy over on this side of the pond :(
-
Simply beautiful, reminds me of a Argentine boa I got off of Tom Crutchfield in the mid 90’s.
-
My img
I see where your coming from sonny a couple of people have said that I think it’s the high speckling
The difference in the price of snakes from USA to U.K. is massive even with the exchange rate sauzo

Re: My img
Medusa my Hypo img was at the glass wanting to come out after work tonight,I slid the glass and put she came with no problems, still get the odd hiss now and then but a couple of strokes and she’s fine
I found a new log over the weekend so I thought I’d try a few new pics,
Her circular saddles are starting to fade now. It glad she’s keeping her coppery tones in her tail, she reminds me of a bco with her short stumpy head

So true!
I believe you just mentioned the iridescent potential of boas in my last thread.
You seem to have some "rainbow" going on in your camp!

Super cool critter Rich. I love how fast they strike but also how slowly they move and how still they can be. Your boas are all tip top mate. :)

Re: My img
Thanks every one, I also love how accurate they are most of the time , but not quite always, lol.
especially at that speed to get over the mouth piece the way they do,
Guess that’s why evolution hasn’t needed to change them in all this time.
Perfect predators
