My snake sqweaked!!!!!

Okay so my snake has been a little off for a while but and I have made posts but I thought she was fine! Her humidity is good around 50 most of the time but don't know how accurate it is because i still have the stupid dials! I went to pet co and they were all out of the digital ones so it has to wait till they have more same with her temp
but it should all be fine
but she has been soaking a lot less then a bit ago but she is soaking and eating perfectly fine and shows no sign of shed or anything wrong with her nose
checking her mouth is a last resort i have seen her yawn a few times after eating and it looked pretty normal just a all over light pink
she is very curious and attentive but rubs her face on the side of her walls pretty hard and i got a free question for a vet and he said it could be a problem or just a behavioral thing
but when i picked her up out of her water (her face was in too low and it was scaring me) and she squeaked!!!
is she okay??
(sorry i post so much i am just worried about her :tears:)

How is your husbandry? Without getting a bit of data it may be hard for us to help narrow down if the squeaking is a snake trait, impending shed, or some kind of ailment. Are you using a thermostat to maintain temps of the heat mat? Hot and cold side hides? When was the last shed?

There are some digital thermometers by Accurite that you can snag at Home Depot or Walmart for a decent price. Another keeper pointed this temp/humidity probe to on another post, and could help you out :)

The humidity is good it is at slightly above 50 but yeah i have a petco gift card i am going to use and I don't use heat mats she HATES them with a passion but they don't even do anything! the bedding is too thick and if i make it thinner it hits the bottom too quick when i clean out her poop and pee so i would love to get something better but right now petco has to do :/ but right now she is soaking in her water bowl and i can't remember when her last shed was it was i think 2 months ago? i have no idea how long they go without shedding but she is still eating perfectly fine

the accurite ones are really nice. i found the indoor/outdoor one at walmart for $10 it’s unbeatable. most things branded “reptile” are a ripoff. pet stores in general are a ripoff, i needed a 30-40 gal UTH and the zoomed one was like $60 at petco and only $25 on amazon.

Honestly it sounds like your husbandry is off. You say temperatures should be fine but with her soaking (are you sure she doesn't have mites?) and rubbing her face along the walls (how often is this? does it happen during the day? Or just at night or feeding days?), then she may be too hot (or cold) depending what your actual temps are. You would be better off ordering a digital thermometer online than waiting for one at petco.

You say she 'hated' her heat mat. Was it regulated by a thermostat? I'm also confused about your bedding statement, if you could elaborate what you mean by

Was your heatmat inside your tank or underneath on the outside? Was your heat mat your only heat source? I think we need more pieces to the puzzle to help figure out what could be wrong.

Also keep in mind you need to check what surface temperature your hot spot is with a temperature gun. They are fairly inexpensive on amazon.

do not..I repeat do not use the dials. They are not accurate at all. And nothing sticky goes inside the enclosure ever. Humidity should be closure to 60. Provide a picture of your set up so we can help you more.

Okay so I KNOW that the dials are horrible! but they came with the tank and at the moment i didn't know any better! i am working on getting something better
I am postive she doesn't have mites i looked heavily into it i change the water pretty much everyday and i have only seen bedding in the water no mites
So about bedding I use cyrpress and I water it about every couple of days and it stays pretty decent
I don't know when exactly she rubs her face but yeah the temp!! I have been worried about that and been trying since christmas to get her a good temperature measuerer
and about my statement on bedding if the bedding is too thin it doesn't really work it just thins out too quickly when i clean out her poop and pee
the heating pad did NOTHING i put my hand up to where it was under bedding and then next to it and NOTHING it couldn't heat enough she just would never go near it
i do have a heating lamp which has a no light only heat bulb

I think you're talking about a Ceramic Heat Emitter or CHE, it gives off heat but no light. Is it on a thermostat or dimmer? Every heat source needs to be regulated, it isn't optional.

I understand that and I don't have one right now I am still working on getting all the stuff I need and yes it is a ceramic (?) heat bulb and the temperature has been pretty decent so it hasn't been the highest on my list until i can get a more accurate thermometer

Your snake keeping mistakes are the problem,and following the advice here is the solution.
They are just tying to help your snake get better, but it requires the proper heating equipment, regulated by thermostats and thermometers.

People are trying to help you and your snake. You came here asking for help, accept help.

Your equipment and husbandry ARE the issue. Snakes rely very heavily on proper husbandry, and BPs are certainly no exception. They can actually be pretty unforgiving when it comes to husbandry.

Think of it like this: We try to raise them in a box, essentially, and need to mimic their natural habitat as closely as possible for them to thrive. Without the proper knowledge and equipment, it is next to impossible to do this.

My advice: read over the stickies on husbandry 101 and setting up an enclosure. Follow it to a T. You and your snake will be fine if you follow the advice of people with years upon years of experience with thousands of snakes.

Don't get defensive, you came here for help. Nobody HAS to reply to you, we are taking time out of our day and replying because we genuinely care about your animal and it's well being. If you cant take constructive criticism, it may be a tough road for you and your snake.

No disrespect but between the run on sentences, lack of information and the fact you keep saying "temps are fine" even though temps are a Major factor in behavior for a reptile, not a sole can help you with this post. The questions are being asked for a reason, people want to help you but if you know what's best then why post a question then tell everyone to relax?
