    Match Me to a Lizard?
Hello all! I'm interested in getting a lizard since I have an extra tank so I'd like it to meet some requirements. So, what lizard would be best suited for me?
    -30 gallon tank
    -Handle ambient temps from 75F-80F
    -Humidity can be any range
    -Tolerates some handling
-Doesn't require daily care (spaced out feeding)

Based on that you are looking at Crested, Gargoyle, Chahouha (depending on your budget.

They don't require UV, not supplemental heat, the temp mentioned are perfect for them, and as far as feeding you are looking at every other day, you will however need to must once daily.

Pink tongued skinks don't seem to have any special humidity requirements and an adult would be perfectly happy in a 30 gallon aquarium if you set it up right. I feed my adults 2-3 times per week and mist once per week. The misting is more to make sure everyone is drinking/hydrated than to boost the ambient humidity - I've never had shedding issues. I also seldom handle but when I do, they're pretty darn chill. Being semi-arboreal, they're a lot more comfortable with being held off the ground than more terrestrial critters.

Those are adorable. I should rephrase. I don't mind daily care, especially misting but only having to feed at max once per day is ideal.

Matching you to a lizard as per title ....

I've seen your face so in going with Gargoyle gecko ...

    Only messing .... :)

My fave lizards have always been Crested geckos ... So gorgeous , easy to keep , active , handle well after a tad of training .. so many colour options ... small...

If you can swing a 90 degree hotspot then leopard gecko is you friend.

Hot spots are no problem. I don't dislike leopard geckos but I don't think they are for me. Thanks for the suggestion though (:

I thoroughly enjoy my African Fire Skink.

I don't handle him nearly as often as I do the snakes, but overall he tolerates handling pretty well. He'll let me pick him up, no problem. It just sometimes takes him a quick minute to adjust and relax, then he's pretty chill.

His feeding and husbandry fall into your ranges. He primarily eats crickets, and I give him a mouse pinkie about once a month. I've seen others eat other things, like mealworms, grasshoppers, etc...but so far my guy only likes crickets and pinkies.

Definitely would live comfortably in a 30 gallon forever. I'm actually moving mine from 10 gallon to his forever 26 gallon bowfront this week or next.

These are the only pics on my phone right now. The rest are on a flash drive thingy and my laptop crapped the bed.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d2c0dc295c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0cb7e8dadb.jpg

Oh I totally understand. I don't care for leopard geckos either. I am more a monitor and skink kind of girl. If I could swing a 10 foot enclosure I would own a nile or water monitor without hesitation... one day a dino sized pet will be mine!

Perhaps a mountain horned dragon? Not sure about the specific care, but they seem to enjoy handling, and adults can be fed every few days. Definitely be sure to do more research into them, though. My brother had one and he loved his, and he was so friendly. I know the life expectancy is about five years, but Rango lived to be about ten. Care for them right, and they'll live longer. Rango lived in an 18x18x18 enclosure, but I'm sure an adult could probably live in a 30 gallon, especially if you plan to go bioactive.
