nice looking leos. you should be able to visually sex them by 2 months of age. it does look like in the second pic that the supposed female may have a bit of a bulge. perhaps you could get a close up of its cloacal area?

If you know what to look for, you can sex them as hatchlings...The pores on the males will be really really small, you'd almost need a magnifying glass to see them.....Also, whoever you got them from should know what temperature they were incubated at, which determines sex. So that should obviously give you a good starting point.

Those are wicked looking leos dude...good find!

Thanks for the compliments guys.. The breeder says give them another month, their still young granted that they are only 2 months old. The supposed female has female-like characteristics, like a slender head and a smaller body, where the male has a large, buldy, broad, head. Yes actually I took some pics for the breeder last night to look at. Here they are:

well from those pics i think they are probably sexed accurately. you can clearly see the pre-anal pores on the male but i don't see any on the female. i'd say the male is definitely male, the female most likely female.

I see two males........females generally don't have those two very distinct bulges behind the vent, and in females, the pores are pretty hard to see or completely non-existant.

They both look male to me. The distance from the anal opening to the first ridge is wide with two somewhat distictive bulges. A female should be a lot thinner in that area.

Now that I look closely... I see the little bulges under both of them.. I'd say both males also...

females have bulges they just aren't as big and the cloacal area is shaped slightly differently. look closely. the best way to tell when they are younger is by the presence of enlarged pre-anal pores. you may have to use a magnifying glass to see them clearly.

    here is a male:
    http://www.mlededee.com/herps/leos/leo_male.jpg
note the enlarged pre-anal pores along with the presence of bulges at the base of the tail.

    -------------

here are two shots of a female:
    http://www.mlededee.com/herps/leos/leo_female01.jpg

    http://www.mlededee.com/herps/leos/leo_female02.jpg
note that there is still somewhat of a bulge but the pre-anal pores are not enlarged. the cloacal opening curves inward more as opposed to being more flat like that of a male.

    -------------

that said, from what can be seen in your pics, i do believe that you have a male AND a female.
