Help!
Don’t know how the heck she managed getting in here but I’m not freaking out yet, try and entice her with a rat to come out? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1c432c8d28.jpg

That's the reason I don't use those kinds of decorations. Hopefully she comes out ok

Re: Help!
Yeaaaaaa I️ didn’t think anything of it because it was flushed against the bottom of the tank....I’ll be stuffing that with newspaper and sealing it, she loves climbing that tree lol

Re: Help!
any luck - did she come out yet.

Re: Help!
Nope she’s still deep inside, I️ have a rat on her warm side thawing on her hide hoping to entice her

Re: Help!
I guess since she got in there she should be able to get out. Don't try to pull her out - just wait her out.
Good luck.

Re: Help!
Yea I️ know better then that, a scared animal cornered, is a dangerous animal to others but mostly to them selves

She'll come out on her own, if she doesn't in..a day or tonight maybe you should worry.
When she comes out, get rid of that log asap.
Also, if she isn't hungry or has eaten recently, then that rat won't make make difference in getting her out.

Place it on its side in the enclosure, turn out any lights and wait and see. Thankfully that hole looks bigger than the snake.

She’s due to eat today so I’m hoping covering the cage triggers her nighttime hunting lol

Re: Help!
*If* she’s in deep enough you can work on enlarging the holes with a sturdy pair of needle-nose pliers, by getting a grip to 1/3-1/2 the jaw depth with the pliers, and breaking it off, nibbling away at it. Been there, watched my husband (stronger hands and wrists) do it.

That's a shame... Here's hoping she gets her butt outta there soon!

i remember that the same thing happened the AKA Dave's BP - https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...w-what-do-I-do he's BP eventually came out and i hope your's does too. i have the smaller version of that tree and the smaller one doesn't have holes in it's base. plug it w/ aluminum foil or canned foam instead of newspaper b/c paper can mold.
Edit: also i would not leave a rat to defrost in the enclosure to entice it. your BP would be in trouble if it were to swallow a frozen or partially frozen rat/mouse. leave a fully defrosted one only.

Yea this is a nightmare for me right now, I’m here till 1130 tonight and my husband won’t get home till 8 so I’m praying it gets too cool for her and she goes to her warm hide....Ima just get rid of it entirely [emoji20] stupid newbie mistake

It may take a day or two before she decides to come out.
-
Hopefully she comes out soon I'm sure she will eventually! Just be thankful she's not in shed when mine is in shed he tries to get as far away from anyone as he can and that would be the perfect place to do so!
-
I admit, I would be freaking out too, this kind of thing gets me anxious! even though rationally I know the snake will probably get out fine.

Think of it this way. It is these kind of posts and pictures that do the most help in teaching people in the future to not put decor items with holes into enclosures ;)
You didn't know that a sturdy item with a hole in the bottom could do this so not your fault for not knowing the future. Keep us posted in how it goes.

Re: Help!
It totally was a win win in the end, she also ate so, I’m just glad I️ will never encounter this problem again.....that picture was the best possible outcome my husband could have sent me and it was the rat that I left on top of her warm hide that got her out cause she was just chilling there and there wasn’t a rat to be found [emoji39]
