Another banana question...
Hey all. I'm preparing to purchase my first bp and I know that a snake's color will usually change a lot over the course of it's life, especially bananas. Is there any weight/age that color changes usually stop (or at least slow) at? I'm considering buying an adult or subadult, mostly so I don't have to worry about whether or not my hatchling will totally brown out eventually.
Thanks.
Re: Another banana question...
get one with the lesser/butter gene. Butter bananas stay light and don't get freckles.

I have this male citrus pastel, banana/coral glow, Yellow belly. He doesnt seem to have any spots and I believe the citrus in him will keep him from browing out too much. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...39a6755a9b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d6cfa6630a.jpg

Re: Another banana question...
Thanks for all the thoughts guys! I've considered buying something 2 gene and I may still yet, but honestly there's nothing I love more than just a good single gene banana. I looove the spots, which it seems like most other morphs reduce a lot, I just don't love the brown out.
I have a crested gecko and I know that CGs usually change color drastically from the time their hatched to adulthood. In CGs, it's fairly well known that the color they have by the time they are 6 months old is basically what they are gonna be, so as often as not that is the age that people buy CGs at.
Does it work that way for beeps or do they often change throughout their entire lives?
Thanks again for your suggestions! And @mmmbananas I would love to see a pic of that banana pastave if you have one ;)

The Yellow Belly will do more than Pastel.

I hope not much! Since he doesnt have any black spots and he has real high blushing so i think I'm sort of new to the morphs sorry if I'm sounding absurd. Any info would be much appreciated.

I’m not familiar with crested geckos, but it’s kinda tough to find info on adult ball pythons, especially pictures. There are so many morphs that change how the coloring changes through a ball pythons life that it’s hard to say what will happen and when.
Here is a picture of my banana pastavegrom the breeder, when I got him, and now at 570g. He may look slightly different, but I’m gonna say it’s the difference in cameras and lighting.

Here's my banana pinstripe i was gifted, i was told he's about a year and a half old and i weighed him in at around 470 grams. He's got all of like 3 brown speckles.
