    New Site: glassreptiles.com
Hopefully this is in the right place. I just finished the initial design of my new website and would love some constructive criticism or suggestions. Thanks in advance!

    Nice overall look.

I would actually say no to the slide show. It requires people to actually stop and wait for the pics to scroll by. People are impatient and want to be able to scan over things. You'll make customers happier without it.

One of the golden rules of web design is.. no dead end pages! That means, get rid of the link to 'articles' until you actually have articles. Don't want to frustrate a potential customer.

While linking to your breeder friends' websites is nice for them, consider not sending your customers to the competition.

The logo you have on the upper right of your homepage looks cool, but is quite difficult to make out. I'd change the letters to a solid color (or a more subtle pattern) perhaps use a different font as well.

Ok, there's some constructive crit. :)

    No prob adam, haha!

Shelby, thanks for the criticism for sure!

As far as the logo, that is on my list of things to fix. Originally it was going to be an all white site and the logo was designed with that in mind.

The slideshow is just temporary until I really have some morphs to show and a real collection to display.

Will do on the articles. I actually will work on some content for there tomorrow. Need to get some permission to use care sheets with credit of course

As far as the links, I am just small time right now. I intend to produce animals that will be of high quality. If I dont have something, I would love to send them to people I believe in. Most people buying reptiles over the internet do their research anyway and know who is out there and what they are selling. If I was selling the identical, say, dishwashers as Adam, then I wouldn't send traffic there. But who is to say that I wont have a Pastel or Pied that appeals to them more than what he has. Just my thoughts on the whole thing. Thanks again for all the comments on my work in process. I will spend all day tomorrow not doing my real job and making the site better (no, seriously, i will! :) )

Shelby, what do you think of the collection page now? I made it completely different and i think it works. Still waiting for the logo change. I think it will prob now be albino patterned which should make the letters pop more.

Much better. You may want to put small captions below the pics so people know what they're looking at.

Oh, and I want your hogg. ;)

    hi jamie,

i liked the website. i liked the pics...the more the better! i just love chekin' out the pics on everybody's site. and "i" thought your logo looked cool. you might just try using a white outline/border instead of the green, if'n some people have trouble reading it. i could read it just fine.

the only criticism/observation i have is that your critters are too cheap! way cheap, i tell you! i'd try getting at least 8k/ea. then you could buy one of those awesome lessers adam has for sale.

    informatively,

If I can get 8K for some normals, I wouldnt need any lessers! And Adam, glad you made that hogg comment, I was thinking it but felt it better to stay quiet!

Thanks for the input everyone! Oh yeah, and the hijacking of my perfectly good thread! jeez...haha

Nice site. I like it. If you ever need help or anything let me know. I run about 8 websites. I can also do banners and such.

Pay attention to Shelby, she must work in web design a little also. She seems to have a keen eye for detail. Just following up on what she said a little. I will make one comment. If the site looks unprofessional or has broken links, people will assume the same about you and your company. Other wise I like it a lot.

    Re: New Site: glassreptiles.com
I want a horse but it is not feasible because of my career right now. If we have to PCS overseas, I am going to take all my animals to my mother. She will either keep them or place them in good homes for me. As soon as I am out of the service I want to get a few acres and put a couple horses on it.
