Update on Sophie.
She is going on 1 year next month (OCT) & just hit 1040 grams. Are you referring to Sully the Male Albino or Me? Hahahaha.... The Male my friend has now. Sully and I didn't see eye to eye. He was a Nervous Nelly and I think the Kids, Dogs and everything here made him Stressed. I worked with him until June and all he wanted to do is tag me. My friend lives up the street & he wanted to try him out and see how he acted. He lives in a house with the whole upstairs empty. His Kids are all grown up and Married. Make a long story short, my buddy takes him out once a weekend and he has never tried to strike period. I think he was the kind of snake that just assume be let alone most of the time and have a quiet place. He is one of 10 snakes my buddy has and he says Sully is his favorite out of his Carpets, Boa's and Hog Noses hahahahahaha. Guess it was meant to be. Funny you mentioned, Ive had a request in for a name change. Lol.

Yup, you threw me a curveball there with the name change. I saw the "update on Sophie" thread title and was looking forward to seeing YOUR snake, but saw the different name and thought..."wait, Sophie is Mr Sullys snake. Who the heck is tgis CALM dude?" Hahahahaha.
Anyway, good to see you back and active during the winter months. We miss you while you're working your butt off the rest of the year.

The parasites they get are from eating prey that have parasites.. As far as mites they dont get wood mites or any other mite except snake mites so i would have to touch, carry another infested snakes mites home or transfer them on something from a pet store etc..

How often do they use the perches? Do they fall off them? I'm moving my bp into a larger enclosure but I'm not sure if i like the idea of her falling off them so much lol.

No they dont fall.. They wrap their tail around it so every once and a while they will let themselves down but their tail will drop after 60% of them is already on the substrate and i hear "slap" lol. They climb every night unless they just ate, or the 2.5 weeks during shed. Their out climbing now.

So I came upstairs and Sophie was in her Cold Hide (she has been using the Hot Hide since I turned it down to 88) so I looked & noticed she soaked it within the last 2 hrs... So for a quick 1am cleaning I cut 1/2 of the Craft Paper off, F10'ed that side and replaced 1/2 the Paper, washed the hide and turned her LED's off... Immediately she came out of the cool hide moving right along, tongue going and buzzed right past me while I watching her hahahaa.. She went directly into the Hot Hide, peaked out at me then wrapped herself up... Now who says these snakes don't become conditioned and accustomed to be taken care of? Thats was awesome.. Couldn't help but smile and laugh to myself. Its cool to know she is happy with her arrangement and got what she wanted.

Yeah i guess she knows how much she needs to eat.. She slowed down this past winter and only eats about once a month. Her weight is up a bit though, 1886g last week so she hasn't lost.
