thx shelby and yes, i have a beatiful female and a male who i just got this past april. i plan on breeding them next season cuz my females is only 720g. my male has a strange pattern though, his dorsal blotches dont connect with his lateral blotches. is that rare or quite common, ive never seen it in any other bp. does anyone know what it is?

    Re: im new here
Nope sorry - it would need to start with a valid URL (i.e. http://etc)

You should be able to upload pictures to your gallery and then post the link to them there within the img tags.

There are some stickied posts in Site Info forum regarding that.

I'd go into more detail but right now i am taking the opportunity to escape work before anyone tracks me down lol.

There is quite a lot of normal variation in BP patterns. We'll have to see the pic in order to say for sure, but he's probably a normal, but very nice looking BP.

heres a link to a pic of him that i posted on reptilesmagazine.com http://www.reptilesmagazine.com/rept...aa.JPG&recno=2 it doesnt really show his strange pattern though. oh and he has a stripe that doesnt break up on abou th rear fifth of his body.

    Re: im new here
Well, from what I see, looks like he's a pretty normal. Often normals will have partial dorsal stripes. A few have a total unbroken stripe.

BPs are one of the nicest looking wild type snakes.

So.. are you looking to expand your collection, or are you happy with just one pair? (haha..)

    Re: im new here
Oh ok. Maybe you'll get lucky like I did and your parents will start to really like the snakes. ;)

I'd like to get a pair of het pieds myself. I prefer pieds over albinos, but the albinos are stunning too.

    Re: im new here
well they dont have any problem with the snakes its just we already have 5 pets. and i would like to get a het piebald but females are like 1000-1500 as hatchlings, the albino hets are way cheaper.

    Re: im new here
No see.. you get a 100% het male pied for about $300, and a 50% het female for around $400.

Either way, if you're too young to have a job, it's not really practical.

    But.. 5 pets? I have 54 animals. :P

Oh I so agree with that! Or at least they are to me. At Kashmire's last de-worming as the vet was looking him over, I said "doesn't he have the cutest face? I just love how lovely ball pythons look!" and he laughed and said "you're definitely a ball gal! I'm a boa dude myself!"

The albinos are nice, but the caramel albinos.....now THAT'S a nice looking snake!

Adam, I have one of your wallpapers up on my computer at home and at work, the one with the albino. The other with it is a caramel albino, right? I love watching my co-workers shudder as they walk past my computer when I've locked it to walk away! LOL

Well I love pythons.. and I love boas.. and who can resist a beautiful colubrid? I'm just an all around snake nut.

My favorite morphs are mojave, bumblebee spider, and pied. I'm hoping to start with het pieds, since I can afford those! lol

Hi and welcome. :) I'm new around here too. Albinos are cool! My absolute favorite morph is the pied. I really love ringers too. I hope one day I can breed a pied. That's my dream.

    Re: im new here
khara, you should just get a pair of pied hets, there way cheaper than homozygous pieds.

    Re: im new here
I agree, especially considering my budget. ;) I think that would be the best way to go and I bet it would be even more satisfying to breed out a pied myself. It's still a year or so off though because I need to learn more before I try to breed BPs.

    Re: im new here
You can get a pair of hets for around $900. A female is about $700.. you can get 50% hets for less.

    Re: im new here
Yes, that's true, but you save a couple hundred dollars. What I would do, is buy a 100% het male, and start with one 50% het female. As I saved more money, I'd buy more 50% het females. You are bound to get at least one het albino female.. and you may even have all hets.

It's a risk, but still, with the 100% het male, the offspring will be 50% het just bred to a normal, and you can sell them and easily buy a 100% het female.
