Python Regius Atlas
I was at my local pet store and they had this book https://www.amazon.com/Python-Regius.../dp/3866592280 on display, not for sale just to look at, and it looked very interesting. It seemed very high quality and nice and pictures in it were beautiful. Unfortunately that was all I really had time to look at sense I was just waiting for them to bring out my order of F/T and I was wondering if anyone has seen or read this here, if the information in is accurate?
Like I said I really like the look and quality but if it isn't a good resource I wouldn't really want it. If looked at reviews and they all seem good but there aren't very many so I thought I'd see what you all on here though [emoji14]

Re: Python Regius Atlas
Never seen it before and haven't heard of the author. It does look to be a interesting and informative read. Thanks.

Wow, looks like a really cool book to have !! Wonderful coffee table book :)
When I googled it I was able to peek into some of the pages. The one about "Deserts" popped up. It is very difficult to read (blurry) but I believe the author talks about the infertility/breeding problems of the Desert females and mentions that he doesn't quite believe in it (as of 2010). I wonder if he has changed his mind on this yet? All I've ever read about the Deserts is how they are simply unable to lay a clutch and usually die during trying.
And there were quite a few people that tried, given how many invested in that project. I was also very interested in the Deserts because I fell in love with the appearance of this morph.
Thankfully we now have the Desert Ghosts which I are similar and I like even better.
I'm really considering getting this book. It appears to be a work of art (full of pictures of living art) and the information is not really outdated I would think. Perhaps just some differences of opinions if anything.
Thank you for sharing :)

Ok, so I ordered it ;)
Knowing Germans (I am one of them, LOL) it will be VERY detailed and well done in a almost "OCD" way..haha.

XD Awesome. I'll probably order it too with this next paycheck as well lol, I was thinking it would be a really nice coffee table book as well.

The first edition is the one on Amazon? Hopefully it doesn't sell out before I can get it then lol. I'd love to see his second book too [emoji14] Thanks for the info!

Dammit, I clicked on the link... now I want to buy that book, with no room in budget! The introduction of the book sounds fascinating!

I tried to see if it was cheaper in Germany (english version), but its the same price. I could have had my family send a couple of extra copies, otherwise..

Re: Python Regius Atlas
I have that book, got it about a year ago. It is a great book, I would say second only to Kevin McCurley's "The Ultimate Ball Python"

Yeah, his FB comment mentions it's off the bookshelves and the publisher is wanting to make a second edition, with him asking for pictures of morphs (with some specific rules like single-color bg, no watermarks, year, etc).
So, probably grab it while you can since it looks like they're not putting out another back of V1.

I have to say, this book is AWESOME.
Only been able to look through it for a bit so far, but there is so much more to it then I thought it would be. Yes, tons of beautiful pictures, but also so much other good information.
For anyone on the fence, I'd say this is def. worth it ;)
