    Azura, Honeybee Progression Thread
Okay! Azura is in Jacksonville now and I know it could still be hours before she is actually at my door but the fact that she is so close has me freaking out so I need to make myself do something other then hit the refresh in the tracking page every five minutes XD So I decided to go ahead and make a thread for her to keep track of her growth and all, you know the drill!

Azura is a female Honeybee (Ghost/Hypo Spider) She hatched on May 1st this year. She's currently eating live but the breeder said she is a really good eater so it shouldn't be hard to switch her over to F/T but I have a place to get live and don't have a problem with it if I have to. Gotta do what you gotta do!

Here's some pics of her from the breeder, more to come when she gets here! :Phttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2b9aba0853.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...951995cbf0.jpg

I miscalculated her size though, I thought she'd be closer to Meeko sized! Looks like I need to order some new hides real fast! How can I make her fell more secure in these for now until they get here?

wad up some paper towel or newspaper to stuff into the hides. i underestimated Coffee Bean's size too; i used the crumpled newspaper she was shipped with to place in her hides and she settled in right away

Awesome idea thank you! I went and did that right away to her cold hide but she actually slithered on into the warm hide while I was away so I'll wait on that side so I don't stress her out :P

What size hide would you recommend for her size? Small size from reptile basics? I just wanna make extra sure I get it right this time [emoji28]

Also would just like to say I had a very good experience with Taylor Made Morphs. Darin was very kind and quick with his replies and worked really well with us after the hurricane and all that. He always put her needs first and I always appreciate that :P This was my first experience with having a reptile shipped to me and he made it a very nice experience so I just wanted to put that out there.

Sorry I'm replying so much on this. Just happy and can't get all my thoughts together at one time XD

yes, small size RBI hides. Coffee Bean is 130g+ and she fits in them nicely and has room to grow. once she gets near the 300g mark she may need to be moved.

    So beautiful.

I don't care what anyone says, but Spiders and their combos still make some of the most gorgeous Ball Pythons. And all seem to be exceptionally sweet!

Thank you, and I know right! I've loved them ever sense I first saw one. I was a bit sceptical at first but after doing my own research and handling some for myself I decided to get one for myself and make my own conclusions [emoji14]

She just took F/T for me! I was a bit nervous because she was on live before but she did so good! I thawed both her and Meekos rats on her cage so maybe the scent would be stronger then fed Meeko first (He took his first rat for me today too so two milestones for us) I was a bit unsure at first because she didn't seem interested but after I moved the paper towel out from in front of her hide out she came XD One little zombie dance later and that's all she wrote!

I'm super proud of her, sorry I couldn't take a picture but i kept it dark over at her tank so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable and I didn't want to scare her with a pic

I got little Azura out for just a second today while I put in her new hides. Poor little one was real scared so I made sure to keep handling to an absolute minimum. It was very nice to get to see her again though lol. I've barely seen her sense I put her in her tank the first day other then seeing her little snoot on feeding day. I had paper towels in her hides to make her feel more secure and she pushed one in front of the opening XD

We just had our second successful feeding! She had a bit more trouble this time with her missing her strike and few times and my boyfriend dropping the rat and scaring her but after another little reheat she was ready lol

I was able to get a few pics this time as well

Now that she’s eaten for me twice I’m gonna try our first short handling session in a few days after she has digested ^-^ I’m excited

I’ve got my girl out for another little handling session and she’s starting to get more comfortable. She’d normally sit in my hand in a ball for a good five minutes before simi-relaxing but now she almost immediately decided to chill out and look around :P

She is beautiful! I use to not want a spider because I didn't wanna risk spending a lot of money to have a goofy snake that corkscrews and stuff(over paranoid), but I have been seeing so many that I love that I really want one now! I love the banana enchi spiders!

I was a bit fearful at first as well due to horror stories I had heard of online and stuff but after being on this forum and seeing all the amazing animals and hearing all the sides and opinions I decided for myself that sense it wouldn't hurt them in any way I wanted to own one for myself and don't regret it lol.

My girl doesn't have much of a wobble herself, she only trembles a little bit when she gets excited and missed her prey a few times one feed when she gets excited. I honestly think it's cute and if I didn't know about the wobble beforehand I probably wouldn't even notice she was any different

Whelp! I went to get Azura for a little handling session today and as I got her out she was NOT happy lol. She struck as me a few times, first time any of my own snakes have done that (though I have been tagged by someone else’s XD) I was just confused sense she’s typically a little shy but overall pretty chill, then I put her under the light in my desk and understood, babies first shed with us!

I hadn’t noticed before sense she’s a hypo but those blue eyes gave it away real quick! I just snapped a few quick pics and put her back to chill and after she settles back in her hide I’ll add another wet rag to her tank to up the humidity

Beautiful girl gave me a full beautiful shed today! It’s her first shed for me and I wanna keep it, I didn’t save any of Meekos first shed and I wish I did lol. What’s the best way to preserve them?

I cleaned out Azura’s tank today and when I was done and took the lid off of the little tub I keep her in while I clean she slithered right on out and curled up on my arm ^-^ I know it’s probably cuz she was cold but it’s nice to know she’s getting more comfortable around me lol She’s been so shy but we’re making lots of progress!

I was gonna put some pics of my little noodle bracelet but Tapatalk won’t let me upload pics for some reason >~< When I can ill post them
