    Special request for Kara...please...
The family was recently watching Steve Irwin, that Croc Hunter guy on TV. He was showing a mated pair of I think he called them rhino iguana's????? I seem to vaguely remember coming across pictures on this forum of three you have Kara?

Would it much of an impostion to ask you to post a few pics of them. My oldest son was fascinated with them and when I mentioned I thought you had some, he was hoping to see the pics. Of course, I then couldn't find them again here! LOL

    Thanks so much Kara.

But of COURSE!!!! We have 2 resident rhinos - Bulldozer & Tonka - aka Mr. Bull & Tonka-Doodle - that are just the apple of my eye...such awesome lizards!!!!

    Mr. Bull:

    http://newenglandreptile.com/webpics/bull1.jpg - He's approx. 18 lbs & a very dominant male, but such a sweetie-pie!

http://newenglandreptile.com/webpics/doodle.jpg My "Miss Tonka Doodle Bug." I just love her so much!!

And this is what happens when Bulldozer is feeling uppity and clamps down on the inside of your thigh with no intent of letting go. This happened 3 years ago & I still have scars on my leg from it. Thank God I was wearing jeans!!!!

    Enjoy!

Thanks Kara! Luke will be so excited to see these pics! By the way when I said fascinated by them, I meant as in "how cool is that!", NOT "hey mom can I have that?"

Mom is not going there! Mom is a weenie! ;)

Iguana tag???? Omg Rusty that sure gives me a visual. Sorry Kara, I'm sure they are wonderful critters but if one of them wanted to chase me for fun, I'd be on a high dresser screaming like a school girl! (reference back to the Mom is a weenie post LOL)

I think tho they must be fascinating to keep if one does it properly and knows their needs well as well as the drawbacks. Good for you Kara! They look like they are thriving!

Green iggys are not a great pet for most people.. it's probably better that you can't have one.

They can be pretty nasty critters!

its not that they are nasty they need to be handeld daily and require so much on a daily basis. i have one and it is a juvy but i know they are awsome animals if you have the time and will power its a once a day cleaning once a day feeding new enclosure ever 3-5 months type of animal good thing i live at home and have a job:).

    Re: Special request for Kara...please...
Yeah.. you are unusual. The average person who thinks iggys are cool or cute isn't going to want to spend the time on it every day.. and they may end up getting chased around their house by their iguana some day!

Adult males can be nasty anyway, daily handling or not.
