Yes, he is a "het" pied. His sister is pictured on Morph USA... :D

If the snake pictured is Tao then he is Pied, not het pied [emoji14] If he was het pied then he would have the gene for pied but would just look pastel champagne. The pictured snake is for sure a visual pied. His sister could be het though.

Anyways congrats! He's beautiful! I love pied

Welp after doing a little research it would seem that the pied gene reacts weirdly to champagne. The het looks like what a typical pied would look like and the full visual pied looks completely white apparently.

Weird, the more you know! Sorry for saying the wrong thing [emoji14]

No worries BluuWolf. .. I couldn't believe it either when I first saw him too. I deal with an awesome breeder though that always helps to educate all of his clients :gj:

    All sounds kinda weird tbh

As I understand it if it's part white it's a Pied and het Pied would show no white - unless the rules have changed in which case - I give up :)

It's pretty common that some champagne het pieds can have ringers that make them look a lot like visual pieds. I think it has something to do with their tendency to form ringers even when the pied gene isn't involved, but that's just idle musing on my part.

Here's an old thread about it: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...=1#post2430785

    Ringers !?!
There's an awful lot of white on that snake and if I'd paid good money for it as a Pied I'd be delighted .

The breeder I deal with produces awesome looking snakes.. Plus he doesn't believe in charging an arm and leg and for that I am so greatful
