So I almost had a heart attack...
Last night when my girlfriend was misting the tank she didn't properly secure the top of the tank with the lock pegs and surprise surprise Jeffree got out and in my place there's so many nooks and crannys and holes and cracks he/she could get in my mind was wandering and I was having a full blown panic attack thinking omg we have cats that would basically see him/her as a giant piece of moving string after looking under furniture under the stove behind the washer and dryer and everywhere else I think hmm what about under the terrarium I thought it was too small and a long shot but there he/She was and in shed... my first thought is I could kiss you! Not sure if I should have posted this in off topic or not I thought maybe here would be fine since it's about a ball python!

you'll find they never go that far when they've escaped, usually no further than 10ft. glad you found them and they're okay.

cover the whole enclosure so it's nice and dark and give them another hour or so to settle. my beeps tend to roam a bit when i put them back in the daytime.

nah, keep your schedule. keep the enclosure covered until it's dark to make sure he's settled.

It won't be possible to make the inside of the tank dark since I have heat lamp should I switch out the day bulb to the red night bulb before I cover the tank? He/she isn't moving around right now he/she is curled up behind the hide cave

if the snake is starting to settle then don't worry about it. making the tank dark is to help speed up the process of them settling down, that's all.

Thank you :) and ugh the biggest part I find shocking is how he/she managed to fit under the tank He/she was under where the uth is I'm guessing it was the warmth that partially attracted jeffree
