Is this a suitable terrarium for a Bp?
I've had my eye on this one even before I got Jeffree and now it's on sale which makes it even better it's 50 gallon which I'm not entirely sure if that would be too big for my little Jeffree. Any answers would be greatly appreciated! :) http://www.petsmart.ca/reptile/habit...ium-21557.html

I have this for Calliope, and she loves it. She has two hides that she uses from time to time but she also likes laying out on the open space. 50gal definitely isn't too big for a BP, really no in loser is too big for a BP as long as you give your snake enough places to hide. Anyways, I love my tank since it has a build in locking mechanism and it's the perfect size for Calliope. I highly recommend it.

I know the feeling, I had Calliope in a twenty gallon and as soon as I got her a bigger tank with more decorations she could hide behind/in, she seemed to be out of her hides more. She liked to look around and climb the decorative skulls I have in there, the tank hold humidity fairly well but you'll have to put foil over the top of it.

I really wanted those decorative skulls but they wouldn't fit in my stupid 20 gallon tank foil over the top would be okay I've had to keep the top of the terrarium he has now mostly covered with cardboard with a hole for the heat lamp. I did the cardboard recently cuz it's been pretty cool here lately (thank god I hate summer weather)

Some pics of my setup with this tank. The lid is a screen but it's sectioned off into four sections (not that that makes it much of a difference) is show you it, but obviously I can't do that what with the foil covering it. There's Calliope too, laying between her skulls behind her water dish.

I will warn that when I tried to just use a heat mat for heating, I found that it wasn't enough so I had to continue using my heat lamp on one side (my hotside) while the heating mat kept the tank at a solid ~85° I use the lamp on one side to bump it up ten degrees higher for his hot side

That's actually not the same one i posted the link to that one looks like an exoterra I would ditch some of that foil I have been seeing that not enough ventilation can cause respiratory infections and you don't want that..

I thought about using the cage w the screened area on the side, but went w exoterra. I was afraid of heat and humidity loss because of that screened side

I have most of the top of Connors cage covered w foil, except a small area on both ends on the top to allow a little heat to escape and some air flow.. Otherwise I lost heat and humidity. I too use more than a heat mat.. I dont use a bulb though, I use a heat emitter. I couldnt keep humidity steady ever though, not until I got a cool mist humidifier and piped it into cage and then put it on a timer that allows it to cycle on and off 5 times a day to keep humidity steady.

I've had to mist jeffrees tank like 6 times today cuz the humidity has sucked badly for the last couple days (which is weird cuz its been cool and damp weather for the last few days) what brand is the cool mist humidifier?

Same the spray bottle I use is from dollar tree I use the reptisafe conditioner in that water as well as his drinking water because I don't want my little baby coming in any contact with chlorine.

Heres what I use. I get tubing at home depot or lowes that fits very very tightly into the tear drop shaped top..you will have to make it go in.

Gimme a min to go upstairs to get a pic so U can see how I run mine.

Tubing needs be very tight going into top of himidifier.. I ran mine to a funnel I found at hardware store that the tubing happened to fit very tightly around...had to make it get on there. The timer I found online, its made by coral life. Its typically a fish tank timer for those running multiple filter/pumps on a fish tank for salt water from what I know.

Watch your tubing for sags.. dont have it any longer than U absolutely need. Because if there are places for condensation to build up in the tubing, it wont allow the mist to pass into tank.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c1da8c04be.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...06c9db4d3c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...40edd08078.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1238909cf7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c84e9945fc.jpg

Let me know if you decide to use same timer and have trouble figuring out which to go with... coral life makes 2 that look alike, but are different. I can tell you the one I got was the more xpensive of the 2.

Not sure where you are, but, I typically order online the humdifier and timer. Humidifier at link above..they have a 20% off coupon as well. Can be found on their site...

Timer I found cheaper on amazon than locally.

Alot of my stuff is bought online bc its not a fun trip into town..ever. I dont like roaming around from store to store and being on the road all day.. its 40 mins one way into nearest town/civilization for supplies... so I tend to order what I can online, then make trips into town when needed.. take top of humidifier w u to match tubing. Its found on rolls, you have them cut it to length for you. (Hardware store, not pet store...fish tank tubing wont fit right.

Your heat mat isn't used for ambient temps, only for a hot spot. If it is bringing ambient temps to 85 it may be dangerously hot on the surface. Are you regulating the mat with a thermostat??
