    Amunet progression thread
Lil girly i called Amunet. Brought her home yesterday. Decided to do a progression thread. How often should i update this? [emoji23]

She is a female, about two months old. Know nothing about her except her previous owner was afraid of her. She does strike, has bit my mum (this morning, got her nail though), and is feisty. Ive had no issue, once i have her, she tends to calm down.

Current weight: 130 grams (estimate, couldn't find my true working scale)

I am in LOVE with that reduced pattern. You can tell in the second pic she's ready to go, but the feisty ones always seem to be good eaters lol... maybe she's just hungry!

Right? The shop owner told me that the previous owner literally threw the snake bag at her and said she was afraid of her cuz she struck at her. We dont know the last time she ate before i fed her, dont know where she got her (could be a petco/smart baby for all i know), nothing, except shes female and she supposedly just shed.

The shop owner pulled her from behind the counter to show me, hadnt even gotten to put her in a sale display, but she knows i do balls so she thought she'd show me and offer her up. Ill have to get pics in natural light to show off her hazy look on her hind end.

    She's very lovely ♡
Don't worry about her being feisty.
You're a new human, a new smell, and she's unsure what life even is right now. She can also smell fear so she needs comfort and reassurance.

She looks very young, and with daily holding she might be the tamest snake ever. ♡
She's doesn't look super malnourished (based on these photos) and like maybe she hasn't eaten in about 2 weeks . Which isn't out of their possible range for eating on a schedule. I suggest feeding weekly though.
I'm glad she's got a new home and someone who will possibly be more understanding of her needs.
Ball pythons are so simple to earn their trust. Just sitting in a ball on your bed 10 ft away and sniffing the air of the room you inhabit will help her learn who you are.
Scent training is a major thing and its very successful!
I wish you much luck with your little princess! :)

Eesh, I'm wondering if she's a normal too. That reduced pattern definitely brings to mind everything I love about Tiger.

Amunet just shed last night. Here's some updated pictures!
It was a beautiful single shed as supposed to be. She has still not tried striking at me but still does strike at others around. Shes calming down though. Her head stamp is brighter than ive seen it, but thanks to her getting ready to shed she really hid it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...17dc8b165b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2005872fe8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a6fed0c73b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d116d95f68.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...39bee3b2ac.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...660a2bf511.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...716350641f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d3cf37a83e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bfb236c452.jpg

Mum hates her attitude, but i figured she'd be a fun one to dinker with.
I know theres a chance she may just be a really pretty normy, but with her only being $70, i figured id take a chance, especially if she turns out to be ... something.

That head stamp us so bright and pretty in person, i love it and love her even more [emoji23]

A very good deal for $70, especially if she passes on that pattern (assuming you ever breed her).

Amunet is now 207 grams. She's currently getting ready to shed. I had to take her out to clean her tub however so snapped a pic real quick of grumpy gills herself.

I did have her posted for sale at a rather high price. I have since decided shes staying, i cant part with her im curious to see if she'll throw reduced patterns at all with breeding age. She's got a ways to go before then, but it's a nice side project with my super cinnys, pieds, and clowns.

I have a visual clown (waiting to be shipped) and a visual pied male that once shes big enough i might throw her with one or the other to get hets.

It's all down the line plans. I'd love to see her at least throw the reduced pattern, even if shes just a normal. It would be a nice line to work into morphs and have her as the foundation animal to introduce clean reduced patterns.

She's eating well, eats every 8 to 10 days, sheds perfectly. She has not struck in a long time knock on wood but does still get in position. I'm not fussing too much over her bad temper, she's calmed down so much since i acquired her, and she may just prove to be worth all this trouble down the line.

And an update on all snakes substrate, I've moved from paper towels to prococo bedding and all snakes seem happy and content.

I love that black patterning, tiger stripes! seems like you stumbled into some treasure! That is how I got my reduced pattern girl. Some guy on craigslist was selling his collection, and out of all of the morphs was a big female Dinker with a crazy reduced pattern and I fell in love with her. I'm going to breed her to see if the babies have the pattern.

Beautiful reduced pattern on that female. Excellent choice to go with some recessive genes to begin to try and prove her out. Grats, and she has got it going on. :gj:

Honestly, I've had so many people say what they think [emoji23]
At this point in time, i dont care what she is, shes beautiful regardless. I hope to get some gorgeous reduced patterned het pied or het clown babies in the future to hold back and get eventual visual hopefully pied or clown specimens.

Maybe ill get super lucky and she'll be het for one of those [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I doubt it, but could you imagine? I'd probably die.

Have her out, she is in a new tub that is bigger than her last. She hisses like crazy but she has not made any attempts to strike at anyone. Im even able to trust her with my phone right here, hands behind it and not worry about her teeth. Shes a fantastic eater, eats everything we offer, whether shes close to shedding or not, found that out when feeding everyone else and she was looking for her meal despite us not getting her one so we prepared one for her and she ate like a champ. That head stamp though [emoji7] im excited to see what she produces in future clutches.

Not sure if i want to do pied or clown first though. Maybe produce/purchase a male clown pied [emoji23] haha no but really. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4eb581ec5b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ea69e8c216.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f477c19d0b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b388178309.jpg

Officially 267 grams empty! That head stamp though [emoji7] shes getting brighter with every shed. The amount of yellow/orange up her sides is insane and i hope pics will eventually capture it true to life

Shes enjoying peeking at me while i took pics. Other than that she was being camera shy. No strikes today though. Still an aggressive eater and flies out of the tub for the food off the tongs. Ive fed her from my fingers before but shes getting bigger and her strikes are getting harder and nore forceful.

I have a breeder friend who specializes in blade, says she may be blade, hed be willing to put money on it, but we laughed and said we'll see once shes bred. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0bfb51bace.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...dbe49bbbd1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...abde3977d0.jpg

Good looking girl, I know your not too worried about what morph she is but I'm 99% sure she is a blade. That gene really reduces and cleans up the pattern.

Fantastic snake. I am obsessed with reduced patterns, (genetic banded, blade, Kalabash are a few of my faves). I recently ordered some Kalabash morphs, and came really close to ordering a recessive genetic banded adult female I found that was gorgeous. You got gold there for $70. The genetic bands looked extremely similar and was going for $275.
After doing a ton of research and shopping for reduced pattern morphs, I ha e an eye for it and would have to guess “blade” also.
Regardless, who cares, the snake is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Amunet. Shes now eating rats so should bulk up more than she has been. Now that she is on rats, her feeding will be slowed down to match it.

She hasn't struck at people in quite a bit but she also isnt super easy to handle either. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7aa6973083.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7cf41f25e0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...133b5330eb.jpg

Wittle baby shed, i love this snake. Kahlee is my favorite but amunet is special to me too.

I think her last weigh in was at 500+? I cant remember. I can pick her up easily without worrying shes gonna bite, though i do still use caution.
