    And another one....
Couldnt resist so here he is. 2016 Meltzer/Lincoln Tumbes boa aka Peruvian Longtail BCL from Vin Russo and Legacy Reptiles. Cant wait to see his colors in a couple years and hopefully he will be here Wednesday weather permitting. This is the breeders pic. More to come when I actually get him in my greasy little paws.

Now I need 2 more snakes....a female anery BCL for this boy and a Rio Bravo Pokigron male for Gina from Chris Wolf which I have on reserve for hopefully Oct litter :)

Nice! I love the look of BCLs and have been considering making them my first breeding project. I love the look of the anery line animals and their smaller than typical size is attractive too. It seems they are in high demand though and I know a lot of breeders have waiting lists.

Great looking snake and good luck with him!

Thanks. Yeah i talked to a few breeders and they are in rather higher demand and not as common of a breeding project as something like Surinames or Guyanas etc.

I'm pretty happy with this guy as the few BCL guys and gals i talked to said the Meltzer and Lincoln lines are all but extinct now. I believe Legacy Reptiles is still working with it as well as a handful of breeders.

I'll probably pair him up with an anery female sometime down the line.

I've got one more snake I'm waiting for now, a male Rio Bravo Pokigron Suriname from Chris Wolf to go with Gina. Then in a few years, I'll have the option of breeding pure Rio Bravo Pokigrons and assuming i find another Meltzer/Lincoln line BCL, those too.

Thanks. I'm pretty excited as I've talked to a few other breeders on the BCC and Pure Locality FB pages who picked up siblings from the one i am getting. So i guess I picked well if other 'picky' breeders picked up siblings of him. And it looks he will be here Thursday as i talked to the breeder and she fed him Friday so she wants to give him plenty of time to digest before shipping. And here's a pic of his dad. Natures true IMG boa :)

Well tomorrow morning is the day!! The little worm will be in my greasy paws. The breeder told me he shed on july 17th and is eating a hopper mouse every week and ate the last one 8/4. Cant wait.

So he will fit right in with Gina as she eats a hopper mouse every 10 days. She definitely fed him conservatively though as he will be a year old i believe 8/16 and is still on hopper mice.

Very pretty and I have to say Gina is one of the best looking snakes I've ever seen. How big is she suppose to get? Do you know how big the males get?

Thanks. The breeder said he tends to keep him snakes on the smaller side with conservative feedings. Gina's parents were like 6-7' and I believe around 10 years old but I would have to double check to be sure.

As for size, you can kind of control with feeding but I would guess probably a little bigger than the parents as I tend to feed on the generous side.

Males should be smaller generally but its not always the case.
