Inland Carpet Pair
I'm just starting this thread as a record of progression with my Maugg line Inland pair. The male is pictures first his name is Rapture. The female is next her name is Gloom. Feel free to post pictures of your Inlands if you have them.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1606192eaa.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...231e92b159.jpg

Nice looking carpets. What type of enclosure do you have them in?
-
Re: Inland Carpet Pair
They are Yearlings so they are in 16qt tubs currently. Inlands don't get very big so I will probably be able to keep them in 41qt tubs as adults. Unlike my bredli or coastals that need large cages.

Beautiful Animals!
By "Inland" are u referring to the locality of the pythons or the breeder, like Inland Reptiles? and these are Axanthics or just how they normally are? sorry, i'm not versed in Morelia's.
u have a nice, diverse collection. time to update the signature! ;)

They are a sub species in the carpet complex scientific name is Morelia Spilota Metcalfei, or Inland Carpet Python. This is the way they occur in the wild. I will have to fix my signature. I haven't looked at it in a while. The collection has changed a bit in the last few years. Thanks for the interest.

Re: Inland Carpet Pair
Notice the puncture mark's all over my hand? I got nailed by my 7ft Bredli female Ariel last weekend. Not fun, her teeth went into my joint.

Yes I did notice that, but didn’t want to call you out in case you may have been embarrassed. :P

Never embarrassed. Always learning. She has never bit me before, I was surprised. But it was a bit of a reality check.

I totally hear ya. Lizzy, my large Coastal girl got me good one day. She gave me all the signs of being in feed mode, but I just HAD TO clean up a mess right then and there. I got a Big dose of reality check!

That’s what I’ve heard. I love the muted tones, almost blues in places. Gorgeous pair.

Re: Inland Carpet Pair
Those Inlands are pretty cool too Rage. I've thought about adding one of those or a diamond to my carpet collage. How much and how often are you feeding when you're prepping them breeding season compared to your normal feeding schedule? Do you do this for the males and females?

I have had them since late 2016. I slow grow my animals until about 2 years old then I hit them with larger meals on a normal 10-14 day feeding schedule to bulk them up for about 1.5 years.

That's cool and interesting. I do almost the opposite. I feed every 7-10 days for the first two years and then dial them back to every 2-4 weeks. Best wishes with your pairing!
